Programme Aims The general aims of the programmes may be summarised as follows: To developed detailed knowledge of Information technologies and their applications in business; To develop an appreciation of the challenges of developing and deploying IT solutions in business and commerce; To develop critical insight of management issues relating to the development, deployment and application of IT in business; To develop a comprehensive knowledge of leadingedge ICT tools and techniques; To develop a comprehensive set of personal skills that enable the graduate to operate in large and small businesses with efficiency and effect. To provide the ability to progress to the next level of study as appropriate. Programme Learning Outcomes: Knowledge and Understanding Programme Learning Outcomes: Intellectual Skills
2 Programme Learning Outcomes: Subject Practical Skills Programme Learning Outcomes: Transferable/Key Skills Programme Learning Outcomes: Graduate Attributes. INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES specified in terms of performance capabilities to be shown on completion of the programme BUSINESS LB01 Have demonstrated that they have mastered basic business disciplines and courtesies, demonstrating timeliness, focus when faced with distractions, and ability to complete tasks to a deadline with high quality. LB02 Have demonstrated a mastery of basic business functions and organisational structures, including a sound understanding of modern business working practices, covering work in the office, at home and on the move. LB03 Be able to take apart non-obvious business problems, structure the problem, collect relevant information, consider options and make recommendations. LB04 Be able to use basic predictive modelling techniques and system thinking to predict future performance and propose system improvements LB05 Be able to construct a basic investment case for a multiyear initiative of uncertain outcome. LB06 Be able to sell a moderately complex technology-oriented solution demonstrating understanding of business need,

TECHNOLOGY LT01 Have demonstrated a good understanding of the architectural components of a business related IT system LT02 Gain and be able to demonstrate competence up to Level 3 (APPLY) of the SFIA framework in Database design LT03 Gain and be able to demonstrate competence up to Level 3 (APPLY) of the SFIA framework in software development in one legacy environment (e.g. Cobol) and one current environment (e.g. Java). LT04 Gain and be able to demonstrate competence up to Level 3 (APPLY) of the SFIA framework in Network Administration and Support LT05 Gain and be able to demonstrate competence up to Level 3 (APPLY) of the SFIA framework in Change Control in relation to an IT environment LT06 Gain and be able to demonstrate competence up to Level 3 (APPLY) of the SFIA framework in ICT Operations. LT07 Be aware of how to roll out a system in a customer friendly way LT08 Be aware of HCI and ergonomic issues in system design LT09 Have acquired technology competence in two chosen fields up to Level 4 (ENABLE) of the seven level SFIA framework. (This will apply to Database design and Software Development.)
