3 ABOUT BELLIO Bellio's journey began in September 2008 when we decided to start producing leather slippers for babies. During a visit to Tärnsjö Tannery we learnt about the difference between normal leather and vegetably tanned leather. Before this, we hadn't understood how much poison there is in normal leather, poison that causes lifelong allergies and contaminates the environment! What an eye-opener! We realised that we didn't want to just make slippers for babies, we wanted to make safe slippers! Through our contacts, we found Docksta Shoe Factory that has been producing shoes since the 1930's and they agreed to sew our Bellio slippers! In December 2008, our first baby slippers were distributed to stores and Bellio's foundation was set - Organic & Made in Sweden. For the 2013 autumn and winter collection we have added new products such as Polkadot baby mittens and beanies with matching blankets. We also introduce even more bright and happy colours along with new designs such as a T-rex and a Helicopter. And, as always, it is all made in Sweden and organic! We hope you like it! All Bellio slippers are handmade at Docksta Shoe Factory in the north of Sweden. Docksta Shoe Factory is one of the last shoe factories remaining in Sweden. All slippers are produced using vegetably tanned leather from Tärnsjö Tannery. The leather is produced with minimal effect on the environment, is compostable and contains no harmful substances. It is perfect for mixing and matching with beanies, mittens, scarves and blankets. The blankets are 86cm*86cm. They are perfect for small babies and kids in strollers. The scarves are made for kids from 4 years and up. They are one size with the measurement 110cm*12cm.

The Bellio cotton beanies and scarves are made of 100% soft Erica Laurell organic cotton. The yarn is GOTS certifi ed and produced in Peru. Sweden, with its cold climate, cannot produce cotton. The yarn is dyed in Ryboholm, Sweden, without harmful substances. The beanies are available in size 46/48 to 54/56 and the scarf is one size. Our slippers are based on Docksta s traditional slippers for adults, which have been popular in Sweden since the 70 s.
