3 D T ma tte Product Description 2 System Requirements DTmate by GinSan Industries is a compact (10"H x 14"W x 4.5"D) data collection system that mounts to the wall of your facility. When wired to desired fucntions, it can collect counts, time events, or send alarm information from its 32 easily programmed inputs. Multilevel password protecton limits viewing of information to authorized owners, managers, or employees. DTmate comes with DTmate Ver2.0 software which allows you to download data from your wash(es) to your windows personal computer. The software will then allow you to run various reports as well as export the information to Microsoft Excel or other formats. DTmate the ultimate car wash information system Product Function The DTmate is completely selfcontained and is very useful to the wash operator for monitoring daily activity. The information the DTmate collects can be used for many purposes. One use is to check for missing revenue. nother use is as a tool for reviewing and analyzing revenue for better wash management. third use is to identify high traffic bays, and better maintenance. lthough DTmate functions on its own in the wash, it was designed to take advantage of the ability to remotely connect to a personal computer. When connected to a telephone line, DTmate expands your business management capabilities in many ways. DTmate can be programmed to call your personal beeper whenever an alarm is triggered. Your beeper will then display the wash code and input # that has been activated, i.e. if your dollar bill changer out of service light is wired to input #7, DTmate will call your beeper and display the modem number and the #7 whenever your dollar bill changer goes out of service. 4 D T ma tte 3 Remote Monitoring Remote Monitoring When you use your personal computer and your security password you can call DTmate at any time from any place. On screen you can monitor current activity in real time. You can change DTmate and reset counts. You can upload input information into the DTmate software supplied with your unit. DTmate software generates its own standard reports and graphs. It also supplies you with data you could import into your own Microsoft Excel spreadsheets for any specialized reports you want to design. Security and Data Collection Never wonder what is going on in your absence anymore! DTmate can record every coin accepted or every second a machine is on. If DTmate is disconnected for any reason its internal timer lets you know which inputs were disconnected and for how long. Used with a computer, you will know which input and exactly what time any tampering took place. DTmate s the most trustworthy employee you ll ever have. pplications When it comes to what DTmate can do for you! Room temperatures, bill changers, entry systems, water pressure, floor heating systems, motion sensors, vacuums, auto cashiers, weep systems... The list goes on and on. Nearly anything that switches on and off can be monitored by DTmate. 5 DTmate Installation 4 Mounting DTmate The goal in this section is to show how to put the DTmate onto a permanent surface, for example a wall. GINSN DTmate Loosen screws in DTmate 's cover and carefully open the hinged cover. DTmate the ultima te car was h informationsystem Position the open DTmate unit or the DTmate template on the wall at eye level. Mark the wall through the 4 mounting holes. Set the unit or the template aside and drill holes for type of anchor you choose to use. Insert screws into mounting holes and tighten into anchors. Basic Wiring The goal in this section is to show some basic wiring techniques. The DTmate inputs can monitor any input with 440 volts C or DC voltage. It can also monitor inputs with 120 volts C but requires a 100k resistor installed to drop voltage. See 120 volts example on page 9 Bill Changer Out of Service Light. Initially, determine what will be monitored by the DTmate. Located in the back of this manual is a numbered Input Record sheet to help organize the wiring process. Once the 32 inputs and their monitored function are known, write them on the INPUT RECORD sheet. Fill in each line to indicate each input's specific Mounting DTmate / Basic Wiring

6 5 function are known, write them on the INPUT RECORD sheet. Fill in each line to indicate each input's specific characteristics. Definitions are found on the sheet and on page 22 in this manual. The Input Record sheet will be useful when wiring the inputs to the DTmate. It will also be needed when entering the input information into the DTmate and the remote computer. Due to the variety of equipment and wash systems available, it is impossible to show every scenario where the DTmate may be used. Demonstrated on the following pages are some basic wiring schemes for guidance followed by how to make the actual wire connection to the DTmate. When wiring, remember that a complete circuit is necessary and that for every input, two wires are needed. Review the following drawings and if unable to determine the correct way to connect the desired inputs, contact GinSan Industries ( ) or your wash equipment manufacturer. Switch (door switch, coin switch, pressure switch, etc.) existing wire To DTmate existing wire Though the switch shown is considered a normally open switch, to the DTmate this switch appears as normally closed. This is because voltage is being fed directly to the DTmate inputs whenever this switch is open. When it closes, current will flow through the switch and away from the DTmate "opening" its circuit. polarity is not critical, "" & " " are shown only to indicate each input has two wires that have to be connected When several inputs with the same power source are being monitored, all of the commons can be "daisy chained" together. This eliminates the need to run a common wire for each input. One example is inputs 1,2,3 are all from the automatic wash ($4 wash,$5 wash, and $6 wash)and therefore they all have the same power source. Run one common wire & link them together as shown to the left. 24 Volt auxiliary power plug The DTmate is capable of supplying 24 volts DC to operate switches that wouldn't normally have a power source of their own. n example would be a mechanical vending machine or a switch connected to a door that is not part of an alarm system. This supply is a very low current source and should never be used to power any 24 volt device nor should it be connected to a device already having its own power source. See example of hookup on next page. Basic Wiring

Modem nswer is set to turn on at 3:00 a.m. and off again at 4:00 a.m. as a factory default setting. This is a low activity time and allows one hour for the remote computer to call the DTmate. The actual length of modem connection time is normally less than 5 minutes. In conjunction with MODEM STTUS, access to all information is also available during the day. In normal daytime situations when the modem is normally off because it shares the phone line, it is possible for someone manually to turn the modem on and off again using MODEM STTUS (page 31 in this manual ). counts modem status monitor inputs Press down arrow twice until next to Setup Press right arrow once to enter Setup menu Wash Code / Modem nswer

The modem located inside the DTmate will always be turned on. modem status indicates whether the modem will answer the phone line. The modem status can remain turned "on" if the modem has it's own phone line. With only one phone line, the modem status should remain turned "off". Note that the modem status must be turned "off" or DTmate will answer incoming calls on the first ring. If access is needed at anytime in the day, someone may manually change the modem status to "on". ll security levels can change the modem status to "on" or "off". m odem nswer will automatically change the setting for the duration of the preset time.
