3 Description The tower is 96 metres high, there are 335 steps. The bell weighs13,5 tons. It is composed of 4 faces. The style of the monument is neogothic.

4 history The name of "Big Ben" is frequently used to describe the tower, the clock and the bell but that name was given only to the big bell. The origin of the word Big Ben corresponds to a civil engineer and politician's name Benjamain Hall, whose nickname was Ben.

5 Regulation The bell must ring every hour and on every 31December. It annouces the new year. The visits are only allowed for English residents. They must book 6 months before.

7 History 10 Downing Street was built in 1682 by Sir George Downing who was a soldier and a diplomat. It's located in the center of London, in the city of Westminster. There were originally three properties : - a manor house - a town house - a little house They were put together by William Kent. For more than two hundred years, it has been the official reisdence of the Prime Minister, at first it was offered to Sir Robert Walpole by King George II in 1732.

8 Outside and inside When you are outside it looks really little but inside it's very big. Downing street contains 100 rooms, 3 floors and a garden that is 2500m². The first floor is a private residence, while the second and third floors have offices and dinning rooms.

9 Today Downing Street is the residence and workplace of the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom. Today the Prime Minister is Theresa May. She is the second woman who is Prime Minister. She has 117 ministers to help her. On Friday 14th October, we saw Downing street. The street was beautiful and it was amazing and exciting!

10 Rules You can take pictures of the street but it's not permitted to go into the house. The street is protected by an enormous black grid, so you can take pictures but you can't see very well. Access to the street is checked by the police and their are a lot of cameras for the Prime Minister's safety.

13 Introduction Buckingham Palace is the official residence of the royal family, the meeting place with the other heads of state in visit and also an important tourist attraction. It is very important for British citizens who like to meet up there to celebrate or mourn.

14 History Buckingham Palace was built in 1703 by William Winde, John Nash and Edward Bore. It was finished in Buckingham Palace is located in England in the center of London. In the Middle Ages, Buckingham Palace was part of Ebury's Manor. First known under the name of Buckingham House, this building, now the heart of the palace, was Georges III's residence in It was remodelled in the past 75 years. The palace finally became the official house of the British sovereigns, at the crowning of Queen Victoria in 1837.

15 Description In front of Buckingham Palace, there is a memorial for Queen Victoria because she was the first queen to live in it ( at the moment, it's Queen Elizabeth II ). Inside, lots of bright colors, pink and blue lapis, a rare and precious stone, were chosen for decoration by Sir Charles Long. Now partly covered by cream and gold Belle Époque scheme. Most sitting rooms are now furnished in a Chinese style.

16 Our opinion A couple of weeks ago, we had the opportunity to see Buckingham Palace. It was very impressive but quite disappointing as we were too small to see anything. We would have liked to visit the inside of it.

17 Regulation Being one of the most known places in the world, with prestigious guests invited every year, the rules are very strict : - you mustn't go inside without your bags being searched. - you can take photos.

18 The Tower of London : History of the castle The castle was founded by William the Conqueror in The Tower of London was opened to the public by Queen Victoria. The Tower is 36 metres long, 32 metres wide and 27 metres high. The castle was built near Tower Bridge and next to the Thames.

19 Castle The castle is one of world's most famous fortresses and of Britain's most visited historic sites. it was used as a prison, a royal palace and Residence,

20 Inside the Tower of London Inside the Tower of London there is a museum, the crown jewels were in the Jewel House. You can see the Queen's crown.

21 The White Tower Around the castle there are ramparts and inside the fortress, the White Tower was used to put up the king. The White Tower, is a donjon. The White Tower is twenty-six meters by thirty-two meters and it is eleven meters high.

22 The British Museum The British Museum was built under Georges IV's reign. The collection of the museum was started whith the help pf sir Hans Sloane he was an English physician. The British Museum was built in 1753.

23 Historic The British Museum was opened to the public on 15th January The British Museum was near London first but in 1881 the collection was brought to south Kensington. The glass dome above the reading room was built in 1857.

24 Collection In the British Museum there are 8 million objects in many departments : - The department of Ancient Egypt and Sudan -The depatement of Greece and Rome -The department of the Middle East - The department of prints and drawings - The departement of prehistory and Europe...

25 Regulation In the British Museum you can take photos with flash except where it's indicated by notice, but in the museum you mustn't eat or drink.

28 Location Regent's Park is in north-west London next to the City of Westminster. To the north, there is the London Zoo and Zoological Society of London.

29 History Regent's Park was built in The park was part of the Tyburn in the Middle Ages but Henry VIII claimed ownership of Regent's Park when the monasteries were dissoluted.

30 Description In Regent's Park there are fountains, beautiful trees, animals, flowers, statues, waterfalls, a boating area and children's playgrounds.

31 Nearby To the north, there is the London Zoo and the Zoological Society of London. To the south, there are two famous museums : Madame Tussaud's and Sherlock's Holmes.

33 Marie Tussaud Marie Tussaud was born on 1 st December 1761 in Strasbourg and she died on 16 th April 1850 in London. She was the creator of the famous museum Madame Tussaud's.

34 History The museum was built in 1850 and it was moved in It can be found all over the world, in America, in Asia, in Europe and in Australia.

35 Hours of the museum Madame Tussaud's is open daily from 9.30 am until 5.30 pm during the week and from 9.00 am until 6.00pm at the weekend.

36 The People In the museum, you can see actors, singers, sportmen, politicians and fictional characters.

37 Regulation You must open your backpack at the entrance of the museum. You are permitted to take photos. You mustn't smoke. You can take photos with all the stars and people.

38 Opinions Madame Tussaud's museum was awesome, very exciting and interesting. We enjoyed the visit.

In 2000, Heyday Films shot a movie «Harry Potter and the Philosipher's Stone». Over the next ten years, all Harry Potter movies were shot inside the studios.
