4 secondary (years 7-11) uniform information IN SCHOOL Black, flat, formal shoes (no trainers or high heels, please). Dark blue or black socks (boys or girls) or dark blue or black tights (girls) Grey school trousers (boys or girls) or school uniform kilt (girls) Plain black leather style belt (optional) (this must not have an ostentatious buckle) White shirt School tie School v-necked uniform jumper (optional) Students may wear the school PE fleece jackets outside at break or lunchtimes, if they wish, or they may wear an appropriate winter coat in a plain dark colour. T-shirts and other underwear worn under school shirts and blouses should be plain white, and tucked in, as appropriate, to skirts or trousers. Skirts should be worn as designed, to about knee length, and not rolled-up or otherwise shortened. FOR PE LESSONS School tracksuit trousers or school PE shorts White school PE t-shirt. House t-shirt for House competitions School sports jumpers (optional). School PE fleece for cold days outside Girls: One piece swimming suit and swimming hat Boys: Swimming trunks (not long shorts) and swimming hat PE kit bag School baseball cap (optional, for sunny days) FOR TRAVELLING TO AND FROM SCHOOL When travelling to and from school, students may wear a formal winter coat in a plain dark colour, or they may wear a school PE fleece jacket as an outer coat. Heavily patterned coats, informal coats or hoodies may not be worn. OTHER ITEMS Students need a suitable bag to carry books, pens and other items around the campus during the school day, and to take work between home and school. Suitable bags are available from the school shop, but students may bring their own bags provided that they are of a sensible colour and design, and that they do not have ostentatious logos or patterns. 4

5 secondary (years 12-13) uniform information DRESS CODE FOR IB STUDENTS IB students are not required to wear uniform. Instead, they are asked to wear business suits. This helps to prepare them for life beyond school, and promotes the idea of independent, disciplined work. Business suits (two or three piece) must be in a conventional formal style. They may be of any conventional colour and pattern. Ostentatious patterns, such as very wide pinstripes or garish checks are to be avoided. Boys must wear trousers and jackets in the same fabric, along with a formal collared shirt and a tie. Shoes and socks should be formal to match. Boys should be clean shaven. Girls should wear a formal top (not a t-shirt) with a formal, tailored suit (trousers or skirt), or a monochrome formally styled and fitted dress with a jacket. Shoes and hosiery must be formal and appropriate. High heels are inappropriate for the busy school day and should not be worn. Jewellery and makeup may be worn, provided that both are discreet and suitable for a professional business environment. Skirts should be approximately knee length. Plain dark v-necked jumpers may be worn by boys or girls in addition to a suit jacket, but not instead of it. Cardigans may not be worn, nor waistcoats unless they are part of a three piece suit. 5
