2 International mail is any mail not going to the 50 States, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. APO and FPO addresses (Military Mail) are considered International.

3 All mail (regardless of weight or packaging) that contains items other than paper require customs forms.

4 How can I send International Mail? International Mail can be sent at a Post Office, on line using Click-N-Ship or through Cornell Mail Metering.

5 What you can do at USPS.com Use for Click-N-Ship services (prepaid service) Look up restrictions for mailing to specific countries Packing instructions/help Pricing Order mailing supplies

6 Addressing To ensure your mail reaches it s destination, be sure to address it correctly. Always write the address directly on the item you are shipping. You must list the country name in English. 7 How to Package your Mail Piece Remember your mail is traveling long distances. Use bubble wrap, foam, newspaper, or other packing material. Give your package a shake. Does it move or make noise?

8 Remember, Never send: Flammable material Alcoholic beverages Perfume, nail polish or other alcohol based items. Ammunition Tobacco products Explosives Chemicals

9 Package Size and Weight Maximum weight for most international mail is 70lbs. Check online for specific countries. Maximum size for most international mail is 109 inches measure by longest side + girth (around). Check online for specific countries. Some countries may have different regulations on size and weight. Check at USPS.com for your destination.

10 Customs Forms If using Click-n-Ship or going to a Post Office, go to USPS.com and follow the instructions. If using Cornell Mail Metering go to: (Works best using Mozilla Foxfire as the browser)

11 What you will see? Fill out form as directed. Remember if you have questions click on the little blue i to get more information. Some campus street addresses are not recognized by the Postal Service. If this happens, use 311 E. Palm Road for street address and then your building name and room number on the Apt/Suite/Other line. Click on Next Select a Service (Items over 4lbs go Priority Mail)

13 1 st Class International Page Choose either Parcel (boxes, padded mailers, tubes) Or Large envelope (not padded) Click Next Enter Customs Information

14 List all items inside package. Provide information about items. Be Careful Here! Remember the total value of your package and divide it by # of items. Be Careful Here! 15 Review your information. Click Print Customs Form

16 To Edit or Reprint click here. Do not hit finish until you have successfully printed your forms!

17 What your forms will look like The form for 1 st Class international mail will print one page with two copies. Sign both forms Piece with the red square is the customer (your) copy. All other parts of this form must be submitted.

18 What does a Priority Mail Customs Form look like? This form will print 5 copies of the same page. Sign all forms. Page 5 is the customer (your) copy. 4 forms must be submitted with the package.
