Must include research component to study the effectiveness of the proposed innovations Institutional Transformation Catalyst (IT-Catalyst) Supports institutional self-assessment activities, such as basic data collection and analysis to identify specific issues in the recruitment, retention and promotion of women faculty in STEM academics Partnerships for Adaptation, Implementation, and Dissemination (PAID) Adaptation and implementation of materials, tools, research, and practices and dissemination and diffusion of materials, tools, research, and practices, to the appropriate audiences, that have been demonstrated to be effective

6 Research on Gender in Science and Engineering GSE Program Tracks Solicitation: TBA National Science Foundation Research Proposals Investigate gender-based factors that impact learning and choice in STEM education and the workforce that encourage or discourage interest and persistence in study or careers in certain STEM fields along gender lines. Extension Services Create a cadre of extension service agents through training and consulting services to inform educators and other practitioners about and enable them to adopt and embed proven gender-inclusive policies and practices in pedagogy, the design of curriculum materials, student support programs, educator and faculty development. Diffusion of Research-Based Innovation Provide a mechanism for informing a wider audience of practitioners (e.g., teachers, faculty, guidance counselors, parents, etc.) about research findings and strategies for changing educational practice.

8 LSAMP LSAMP Program Solicitation: TBA National Science Foundation The LSAMP program supports sustained and comprehensive approaches to broadening participation at the baccalaureate level. New Alliances: have not received previous LSAMP funds and meet the criteria for a LSAMP partnership alliance described under "eligible organizations". Mid-Level Alliances: they have received previous LSAMP support and (1) focus on the recruitment and retention of freshmen and sophomore students in STEM disciplines and (2) support early interventions for the retention of upper level students with an emphasis on graduate matriculation. Senior-Level Alliances: they (1) received 10 years or more of LSAMP support and plan to focus on persistence at all critical junctures of STEM education, (2) plan to establish meaningful community college interventions and connections for students and faculty with 4-year institutions, and, (3) plan to develop or expand existing international research programs in preparing for a diverse, globally engaged science and technological workforce.
