2 Drawing its name from the Sanskrit-derived word for peace and nơi meaning place in Vietnamese, Amanoi is a tranquil beachside retreat. Embraced by the rolling hills of Nui Chua National Park, the resort overlooks Vietnam s Vinh Hy Bay.

3 After a scenic drive through Nui Chua National Park, guests ascend a broad bank of stairs to Amanoi s Central Pavilion. Situated atop a hill at the property s highest point, the Central Pavilion houses a number of relaxation and dining venues.

4 From its lofty perch, the Central Pavilion s expansive terrace offers superb views of the East Sea and the region s rugged coastline.

5 The Restaurant (above) occupies the very heart of the Central Pavilion. Elegant and spacious, it offers an air-conditioned interior, as well as shaded al fresco dining areas. The Library (below) is situated below the restaurant, and offers a varied selection of reading material in several languages. Next to the Central Pavilion is the Cliff Pool (right), one of two main swimming pools. Backed by a wooden deck and granite boulders, it overlooks the East Sea.

6 The Bar is set beneath the Central Pavilion s graceful eaves with views of rolling hills and distant mountains. A selection of drinks and light snacks are served.

7 Guest accommodation includes 31 Pavilions, a number with private swimming pools, and five Aman Villas, all with impressive views. The design of the Pavilions and Aman Villas combines contemporary style with traditional Vietnamese architectural features to complement the natural surroundings.

8 Pavilions are identical in layout and interior design, and each offers a combined living and sleeping area.

9 Ideal for private dining, each pavilion has a terrace with a dining area and two sun loungers. Other features include a king-size bed, sofa, writing desk, LCD TV with international channels and wireless Internet. The bathroom opens onto the deck through the shower.

10 Sixteen of the pavilions feature private infinityedge swimming pools. Views are either of the sea or look inland over a lotus-filled lake towards the hills of the National Park.

11 Amanoi s extensive Aman Spa is a destination unto itself. The spa s reception area (left) is housed in the main spa building, along with hand & foot therapy rooms and a hair & finishing salon. Pathways lead from reception to five double treatment suites and two hydrotherapy suites (below) with private relaxation lounges (above).

12 Overlooking a terraced garden beside a lotusfilled lake, the spa offers extensive health, beauty and fitness facilities including a yoga pavilion at the water s edge.

13 Each of the five double treatment suites features a private dressing area and shower, as well as unique double bathtubs. Several offer access to outdoor relaxation areas.

14 Amanoi s fitness options include a spacious, light-filled gym (below left), a Pilates studio (above and below right) and the lakeside yoga pavilion (right). There are also two outdoor tennis courts and two swimming pools the Cliff Pool and another at the Beach Club.

15 Backed by huge granite boulders, the Beach Club is located on the sandy white beach of Vinh Hy Bay. It offers lounging and dining areas, as well as a swimming pool and changing rooms. A range of water sports equipment is provided including snorkelling gear and kayaks.

16 The Beach Club is a romantic venue for sunset drinks and evening dining. The menu features a selection of Vietnamese and international dishes.

17 Amanoi guests can experience the bustle of Vinh Hy fishing village or venture into Nui Chua National Park with a guide and a picnic. A historic site in the region is the 13th-century Po Klaung Garai (right). Cooking classes with Amanoi s chefs are also available.
