2 23 MAY BILBAO-BURGOS-MADRID Early morning departure for Burgos, leaving from the previously agreed location. Arrival and subsequent visit of the city, which is the old capital of Castile. We will walk through its historic centre and visit the Cathedral, a gothic jewel which hides the Chapel of Condestable and the Golden Staircase. Lunch in a restaurant and onward journey to Madrid. Accommodation. 24 MAY MADRID Breakfast. This day will include a day visit to the city. There will be a sightseeing walking tour around the main streets and avenues such as Plaza de España, Calle Princesa, Ciudad Universitaria, Gran Vía, Calle de Alcalá, Plaza de Cibeles, Plaza del Descubrimiento and Puerta de Alcalá, and there will also be a visit to the Prado Museum and Royal Palace. The Prado Museum is one of the most important picture galleries in the world, with art works from Spanish painters (Velázquez, Goya, El Greco Zurbarán ) and Flemish artists ( El Bosco, Rubens ). The Royal Palace, an old official residence of the kings of Spain which is nowadays only used for official receptions, is one the best examples of 18th century architecture and is recognized as one of the best preserved sites in Europe. 4 25 MAY EL ESCORIAL AND SEGOVIA Breakfast. Departure for day trip to the cities of El Escorial and Segovia. Arrival in El Escorial and visit to the Monastery, which Philip II ordered to be built and is considered the eighth Wonder of the World. Its classical and sober lines are an example of the so-called Herreriana architecture in honor of the architect Juan de Herrera. Travel to Segovia: typical lunch with lamb or suckling pig. Afterwards, a tour of the city will take in the Roman Aqueduct, the Cathedral and the Alcazar, located at the confluence of the rivers Eresma and Clamores and providing the picture of an impregnable fortress. Return to Madrid. Accommodation.

5 26 MAY TOLEDO Breakfast. Departure for a day trip to Toledo, city that was a cultural melting pot and model of harmony in the Middle Ages, where Christians, Jews and Muslims cultures lived together peacefully. We will visit the Cathedral, Saint Mary the White - the Congregational Synagogue of Toledo, the Church of Santo Tomé, where the famous painting "The Burial of the Count of Orgaz" by El Greco is displayed. Lunch in a restaurant. Return to Madrid. Accommodation. 27 MAY MADRID-BILBAO Breakfast. Departure to BILBAO. Arrival.
