The General Education is designed to provide you with a better understanding of society s traditions and past, its accomplishments and aspirations, its relation to and responsibility for the natural world, its diversity and plurality, and its problems and needs. 4 VIII. ARTS & HUMANITIES: (12 hours) Coursework in the Arts and Humanities involve evaluating significant writing and works of art. Such studies develop capacities for aesthetic and historical response and judgment; interpretation and evaluation; critical listening, reading, seeing, thinking, and writing; and experiencing the arts and reflecting on that experience.
