Old, unserviced cookers could be a hazard Anyone in a yurt with an instant BBQ Customers No instant BBQ s allowed to be used in a yurt. Sign up to say so Carbon monoxide alarm in the yurts. Tested each occupation. Cookers replaced or safety reviewed by qualified electrician. Cleaned regularly. No gas supply. Defects reported. Fire alarms fitted. None
3 Meon Springs Wood Burning Burns caused by hot Customers Stoves metal or wood. Fire from burning ashes or wood Carbon monoxide poisoning. Guards around each wood burning stove. Metal fire buckets, rather than wicker. Carbon monoxide alarms fitted & tested prior to each occupation. Advice in Ts & C s We do our very best to provide a safe environment. However, you are responsible for your own and your family s safety at all times. Never leave children unattended in a yurt. Always supervise children around hot stoves and camp fires. All yurts and facilities are non smoking.

5 Meon Springs Stormy weather Decking on which yurts stand Lightening strike. Falling trees. Other obstacles blowing in the wind. Slips & Trips. In wet weather, the decking can become slippery when wet. Anyone in the vicinity of the yurt village in a storm. Anyone entering or exiting a yurt. Customers warned to be careful of chairs and ancillary equipment blowing around outside in a heavy storm. Trees should be assessed for safety, when they have grown tall enough to be a danger. Advise customers to wear sensible footwear Decking treated with chemicals to prevent greening. Display warning signs about the risk of slipping on prominent safety notice in each yurt. Consequence Medium Consequence Medium Consequence Low Yurts should be grounded, with earthing cables. Advise customers to wear sensible footwear. Upgrade to non-slip decking in front of each yurt.

Customers all sent a yurt safety note, with fire safety points added before arrival. This note is also available for customers on site Fire safety note posted prominently in each yurt. Fire Hazard in yurts Inability to escape from fire. Anyone in a yurt, if it caught fire. Particularly vulnerable people Children and Babies Customers warned never to leave children or babies unattended in a yurt. Fire alarms, tested twice weekly in each yurt. Tested fire extinguishers in each yurt and around the site. Consequence Low Add fire risks to prominent safety notice in each yurt.
