Additionally, the T8 Tube has the technology to retrofit directly into the line voltage in case of ballast failures. Straits Lighting T8 Tubes are UL and DLC Certified. 3 CAUTION Risk of electric shock. Direct replacement for fluorescent lamps with certain electronic ballasts only. This device is not intended for use with emergency exits. These lamps are not to be used in damp / wet locations. These lamps are not to be used with dimmers. If the lamp or luminaire exhibits undesirable operation (buzzing, flickering) immediately turn off power, remove the lamp. This lamp operates on electronic ballasts only. If the lamp does not light when installed, remove the lamp from the luminaire. Do not make mass installation before testing. INSTALLATION PLUG & PLAY 1. Turn off the power to the light fixture at the breaker panel before the installation 2. Open the diffuser from the light fixture 3. Remove the fluorescent tubes. Please dispose of these items properly as they may contain mercury 4. Put the LED tube into the lighting fixture 5. Install the LED tubes and close the diffuser. 6. Turn on power INSTALLATION RETROFIT 1. Turn off the power to the light fixture at the breaker panel before the installation 2. Open the diffuser from the light fixture 3. Remove the fluorescent tubes. Please dispose of these items properly as they may contain mercury 4. Cut the wires as shown on the diagram below
