2 GAMES FAMILY USER MANUAL (4P) Thank you for purchasing this product. To better understand how to use this product and use it s different features, read the manual entirely. Don t do anything outside of the instructions shown in this manual, or you risk not only damaging your system, but also voiding your warranty. FEATURE INTRODUCTION: 1. 4 WARNING: Using the wrong power supply, connecting a power supply incorrectly, or having a JAMMA connector flipped the wrong way, can permanently damage the main board and the power supply. 2. Two channel stereo audio circuit diagram. (Figure 2): 3. Counter circuit diagram. (Figure 2.1): Figure 2 Figure 2.1 SYSTEM OPERATION: 1. Turn on the power using the ATX power supply. Do not press the switch on the bottom of the main board. The system will start automatically after 3 seconds. The boot sequence is approximately 90 seconds. After that the game list should be shown on screen. 2. Select games by moving the 1P joystick. Press 1P START button to start a game. 3. Insert coin(s) or press the credit button(s). Press 1P/2P/3P or 4P START button to start playing the game. 4. Escape from game mode back to the game list by pressing 1P START for 3 seconds. (You can adjust it to be 1P START and the A button if required. See System Function Setting Table on page 5.) 5. Change game list by pressing 1P button A or B. Page 4

7 4P-P4 Setup and Game 2. Keep system working at game list (Figure 5A). 3. Press the SETUP button (Figure 6) to entry System Setting menu (Figure 7). Figure 6 4. Select Show/Hide Game list item by 1P joy (Figure 8). Figure 9A Figure 9B Figure Press 1P START button to enter the Show/Hide Game List menu (Figure 9A). Because you can not hide game lists with the Retro Active Game List, if you attempt to select this option, you will see the error shown in Figure 9B. When this error appears press the 1P START button to close it. If this does not work, use the trackball and move the mouse cursor over the button, and press the 1P START button to close it. Page 7

8 7. Select game list item by 1P joystick and press 1P START button to decide what game list(s) to show or hide. Dark square means show and light square means hide. After you have finished selecting what games to show or hide select Exit (Figure 9) and press 1P START button to return to the Game List Setting menu (Figure 10). Select Back to Main Menu (Figure 12) and press 1P START button to get back to the System Setting menu (Figure 13). 9 4P-P4 Setup and Game Note: 1. The full game list cannot be hidden. 2. Restore Game List (Figure 12) is how to revert back to the last game list saved. 3. Restore Default Game List is how to revert back to the original full factory game list. JAMMA CONNECTIONS FOR 1P & 2P SW2 SINGLE LOCKED GAME MODE: 1. Select a favorite game and enter into game mode. 2. Switch ON bit 3 on SW2. Figure 15 DELETE GAME FROM GAME LIST 1. Switch ON bit 4 on SW2. (Figure 3). 2. Select Game List Setting item (Figure 7) and press 1P START button to enter the Game List Setting menu (Figure 10). 5. Repeat steps 6 to 9 shown on page 8. ADD GAMES FROM ALL GAME LISTS INTO ONE GAME LIST 1. Switch ON bit 4 of SW2 (Figure 3). 2. Press the LIST button (Figure 19) to enter the Retro Active List / All Games (Game Family) menu (Figure 20) 3. Select Favourites and press 1P START button. 4. Select a favourite game (Figure 21) and press the ADD button (Figure 19) to enter the game list menu (Figure 22). 5. Select a destination game list and press 1P START button (Figure 23). 6. Press the SETUP button (Figure 6) to enter the System Setting menu (Figure 7). 7. Select Game List Setting item (Figure 7) and press 1P START button to enter the Game List Setting menu (Figure 10). 8. Repeat steps 6 to 9 shown on page 8. Page 10 Figure 19

Press the SETUP button (Figure 6) and select Language Setting (Figure 24). 3. Press 1P START button to change the language from English to Chinese, or back to English (Figure 25). 4. 12 NEW GAMES UPDATE: For additional information regarding new game updates, please contact your vendor. Vendors are sometimes provided with new games and software as they are issued. These updates are not regularily scheduled and may not always be applicable to your hardware. GAME CONFIGURATION SETTING: Type 1: Reverting a game to it s original settings. (Examples: SNK, NEO GEO, CAPCOM, CPSII serial etc.). 1. Switch ON bit 4 of SW2 (Figure 3). 2. Select the game you wish to reset (Example Metal Slug 3) and start the game (Figure 26). (Figure 27). *Menu appearance and options may differ from title to title.* Figure After you have finished resetting the game and have exited back to game mode, (Figure 26), press the ESC button (Figure 28) to go back to the game list (Figure 29). Some games have a dialog window that appears when you press the ESC button (Figure 28), select Quit Game by using 1P joystick and pressing the 1P START button to return to the game list (Figure 29). Select Config Files (Figure 31) and press 1P START button to enter the Config Files Menu (Figure 32). (Example: CAPCOM, CPS1 serial etc.). 1. Switch ON bit 4 of SW2 (Figure 3). 2. Select the game that will be set (Ex. Street Fighter II) and start the game (Figure 35). 15 4. Press 1P START button to enter the configuration setting menu (Figure 37). To chnage selections move the 1P joystick left or right (Figure 37). *Options may vary from title to title.* 5. After you have finished modifying different settings, select Return to Main Menu (Figure 38) and press the 1P START button to return to the main menu. (Figure 39). 6. Select Return to Game (Figure 39) and press 1P START button to return to game mode (Figure 35). 7. Press the ESC button (Figure 28) to return back to the game list (Figure 29). 8. Some games have a dialog window that appears when you press the ESC button (Figure 28), select Quit Game by using 1P joystick and pressing the 1P START button to return to the game list (Figure 29). 9. Repeat steps 6 to 11 shown on page 13 for saving different game configuration settings. (Figure 33). 16 2. Select the game that will be set (Ex. Tank Force) and start the game. 3. Press the ADJ2 button (Figure 28). 4. Select Dip Switches (Figure 40) and press 1P START button. Figure 41 Figure Select Service Mode item and set it to On or Off by moving the joytsick left or right. (Figure 41). 6. Press the ADJ2 button (figure 28) to close the current setting window and modify the configuration settings by using the 1P joystick (Figure 42). 7. After you have finished configuring your settings, press the ADJ2 button (Figure 28) and set the Service Mode to Off (Figure 43). 17 10. Repeat steps 6 to 11 on page 13 for saving the game configuration settings (Figure 33). CHANGING 2P or 4P PLAY MODE: 1. Switch ON bit 4 of SW2 (Figure 3). 2. Press the MODE button (Figure 28) to select 2P or 4P mode. 3. Switch OFF bit 4 of SW2 (Figure 3). 4. Start any game and play it once. Then exit from the game back to the game list. The setting change(s) should now be saved. TROUBLE SHOOTING Q&A Q: When I hold down the 1P START button for 3 seconds, I can t return back to the game list. A: Check that bit 3 and bit 4 of SW2 are switched to OFF. Q: 3&4P connector board doesn t appear to be connected or working at all. A: Check that bit 1 of SW2 are switched to ON. Q: System starts, but it won t enter game mode. A: See GAMES FAMILY HARD DISC DATA RETRIEVE procedure shown on page 18. Q: After the power has been on for 2 minutes, the picture appears non syncronized or messed up. A: The video mode might be set incorrectly. Try changing it between PAL or NTSC (Page 6 Figure 4). Q: When using 3&4P, the video mode changes. A: Check that bit 4 of SW2 are switched to ON. Select a different video mode. When the picture appears correctly, switch bit 4 of SW2 to OFF. Q: When the power switch is turned on, the power button on the system board doesn t work and the fan is idle. A: After the system is powered on, do not press the switch on the bottom of the mainboard. Page 17

18 Q: After I changed from 2P to 4P mode, during the next power on, the setting changed back. A: When you make the chnage from 2P to 4P, exit the game and go back to the game list. This saves the change and should work after turning the system off. Q: The mainboard burned out when I connected and used the 3&4P Connector Board. A: Use a separate transformer to isolate the AC current. GAMES FAMILY HARD DRIVE DATA RETRIEVAL 1. Connect the hard drive with the missing or corrupted date to the IDE2 port shown in (Figure 45). Connect power to the drive as shown. 2. Check that bit 4 of SW2 is switched to ON. 3. After the system is powered on, press the 2P START button immediately until the Ghost Clone program appears. The system should start the retrieval process automatically. This process is carried out in VGA mode only. To view the status, you must have a VGA monitor connected. 4. The process should take approximately 20 minutes, however can be longer depending on how much data is being recovered / cloned. The system will power down by itself when complete. 5. Remove the hard drive connected to IDE2 and switch bit 4 of SW2 to OFF.
