Stamford Nursery School embraces the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), a principle-led, child-centred and play-based framework. Set within Stamford Junior School s extensive grounds, our Nursery School has a wonderful landscaped garden and a play area perfect for enthusing young imaginations. There is also a large covered outdoor play area, so that not even the Great British weather can keep us indoors! Inside, the Nursery School boasts a number of dedicated zones, giving the children ample space to learn and enjoy a host of activities, such as music, reading and play. It s great to know that Alice has had a healthy meal and plenty of fruit during the day it makes tea time that bit easier. Nursery Parent Creating and thinking critically From this early age the children become very familiar with innovative approaches to teaching, and regularly make use of interactive whiteboards, cameras and computer equipment. Children in our Nursery are taught in two age groups. Children can join our Gosling group from the term they turn three, and move into the Owl group in the following September. If your child is three before September 1st, they will automatically join the Owl group. From the minute your child arrives they will be cared for by a team of highly qualified and professional staff. At lunch time they can enjoy a freshly made meal prepared in our own kitchen.

4 Moving up to big school At Stamford Nursery School we encourage children to have their own ideas and follow their paths of interest. We listen carefully to their fascinations and support them carefully in developing their interests. One of the tremendous benefits of our Nursery School is the opportunity to progress into our Reception Class and then continue on an educational journey through the Stamford Endowed Schools family. Our Reception Classes and Nursery School form a cohesive Early Years department ensuring that your child s transition is seamless. What do learners do? Learners make meaning. Nursery Parent How to find us Stamford Nursery School is conveniently located just a short walk from Stamford town centre. You can either access the Nursery School from Sheep Market car park, where there is ample parking for parents, or via the Junior School, off Kettering Road. Opening Times Monday Friday: The Nursery School day is from 9am to 4pm, with extended care available from 7.45am to 6pm during term time and from 8am to 6pm during school holidays.
