3 Overview These instructions are for installation of the MUTO COMFORT sliding door system M50 for the following mounting and style versions: 1. Ceiling mounting Intended use - up to 3/8" (10mm) GLASS sliding doors in dry indoor areas - for manual slow opening and closing only Wall/Ceiling requirements and fittings - The substructure/wall must be able to bear permanent loads, be level and perpendicular (max. tolerance: 1/16" (2 mm) per meter). - Fixings must be sufficiently dimensioned for the substructure/ wall and weight of the door. Requirements for glass panel - Heat-soaked thermally tempered safety glass - Clamping area must be level and uncoated (no self-cleaning coating!) Symbols used Safety/Installation Caution! Mounting components must meet the requirements of substructure/wall and door weight. Please read the technical information for fittings. Risk of breaking glass When installing the door, support the door panel with a block of wood or similar object. Information note Always use silicone- and oil-free cleaners (e.g. acetone). Closing edge Maintenance, care, repair - immediately replace damaged parts - always use original DORMA parts - use a damp cloth for occasional cleaning, especially the track Disposal Dispose in accordance with local, state and national regulations. 5 Securing track to mounting surface 1.1 Ensure the track is properly level and secure it to the ceiling per the appropriate measurements below. 1.2 Use appropriate fasteners according to the following recommendations. NOTE: SEE DIMENSION INSTRUCTIONS BELOW FOR REFERENCE. NOTE: OVERHEAD REINFORCEMENT: The overhead reinforcement must be a minimum of ¼ (6mm) x 3 (76mm) steel angle, 16 gauge metal stud, or two pieces of 1 1/2 (38mm) thick wood blocking (double stacked), secured to studs or joists on a maximum 16 (406mm) centers for the length of the track. The overhead reinforcement may be flush on the overhead surface or on the interior of this surface. Track mounting screws must fully penetrate the steel angle, metal stud, or at a minimum of 2 (51mm) into wood blocking, utilizing the predrilled holes in the MUTO track. 6 Installing the roller carriers: on monolithic glass ONLY DETERMINE THE LEADING (X) VERSUS TRAILING (Z) EDGE OF THE GLASS. LEADING IS SIDE CLOSEST TO LATCH (CLOSED). Z Roller location on glass unit M50 X Single door X 3-1/8" [80] Single door Z 3-1/8" [80] Secure Roller carrier Legend: - leading edge of door gasket 2 [Back of] End stop hold-open [Back of] Hex key size: M50 = 3mm NOTE: FULLY CLEAN SURFACE OF GLASS WITH AN ALCOHOL-BASED MILD GLASS AND SURFACE CLEANER. ENSURE NO DEBRIS IS ON THE GASKET. 2.1 Slide roller carriers onto glass. NOTE: Orient with rollers towards back of glass door. 2.2 Slide glass gasket and metal shim between glass and roller carrier. NOTE: Orient gasket with rubber side facing the glass. 2.3 Secure roller carriers to glass using appropriate-size hex key at ft lbs (2.5-3 Nm). Installing the end stops Track Hex key size: M50 = 2mm, 2.5mm 3 End stops Set screw for end stop hold-open pressure 3.1 Slide end stops into each end of the track. Do not tighten. NOTE: Exact location/adjustments will be determined in step Once final location is determined, adjust end stop holdopen pressure by turning set screw in or out. 6

7 Install glass/rollers in track Setting block locations 4 Rollers ENSURE ROLLERS AND TRACK ARE FREE OF DEBRIS. 4.1 Place glass on setting blocks on floor for stability. 4.2 Tip glass and rollers upward and rest rollers on track. Engaging the anti-jump 5 Antijump Anti-jump adjustment screw Hex key size: M50 = 2mm 5.1 Temporarily engage anti-jump on roller carrier [to ensure glass does not fall off track during adjustment step]. NOTE: Using appropriate-size balle-end hex key, turn antijump adjustment screw CLOCKWISE to engage anti-jump. 7

8 Install floor guide M50 X 1-1/4" - (T/2) [31.5-(T/2)] X T Wall Floor guide anchor Floor guide 13/16" [20 mm] 1-7/16" [36 mm] Align centerline of glass with centerline of floor guide. 6.2 Be sure the glass is plumb. NOTE: Reference chart above for exact floor guide location. 6.3 Mark appropriate floor guide measurements. 6.4 Disengage anti-jump and remove glass and rollers from track. 6.5 Pre-drill into mounting surface using a 5/16" drill bit. 6.6 Secure floor guide anchor with included fasteners. Install floor guide: continued Floor guide anchor Floor guide Hex key size: M50 = 1.5mm 7 Set screws 7.1 Set glass and rollers back onto track. 7.2 Slide floor guide over floor guide anchor and tighten with set screws. 8.3 Remove setting blocks. NOTE: Be sure glass is centered in floor guide. Adjustment door height Door height adjustment tolerance Hex key size: M50 = 2.5mm M50 +5/32" [+4] -3/32" [-2] = = Height adjustment screw [0 < X < 1/32" (0.5mm)] 8 Floor guide 3/8" [10mm] Anti-jump adjustment screw X 8.1 Set height of glass door. 8.2 Using appropriate-size hex key, turn height adjustment screw CLOCKWISE or COUNTER-CLOCKWISE to raise or lower glass. NOTE: Be sure glass is level during this adjustment. 8.3 Re-engage the anti-jump by turning set screw CLOCKWISE with appropriate size ball-end hex key. Anti-jump should NOT touch track. 8

(See image above for reference.) NOTE: Be sure handle/pull is minimum of 1" [25mm] from frame edge. Set end stop locations: 9.2 Set end stop locations. (See images above for reference.) 9.3 Slide end stop to desired location on track. Bumper should touch edge of roller carrier. 9.4 Using appropriate size hex key, secure the end stops in place with the set screws. 9

10 Install cover clips Cover clip Insert cover clips into track. (One clip per foot) 10.2 Insert perpendicular to track, and turn CLOCKWISE to snap into place. Install brush profile Brush Track Measure and cut brush to appropriate length Slide brush into track. 10

11 Install cover Cover clip Cover 12 Cover 12.1 Secure cover to clips and snap into place. NOTE: Roll cover from the bottom upwards. Ensure the bottom of the cover is supported by the groove in the cover clip. Install end caps End cap End cap Snap end caps onto track. 11
