10 CLOSING SCENE Noah plants a vineyard drinks the wine drinks too much wine gets drunk and Ham acts shamefully about his naked father. He is cursed but the NEXT PROMISE is MADE: 1. SHEM will be BLESSED by God (becomes the next seed fulfillment) and 2. SHEM S TENTS will be enlarged so both Japheth and Ham will be dwelling in the tents of Shem where God s BLESSING resides in His presence with SHEM. 15 God s PRESENCE in a tent God established His dwelling place on earth in a tent in which His SHEKINAH (revealed glory of God) When the tent/tabernacle was dedicated, a cloud of glory covered the tent and the glory of God filled it (cloud by day; pillar of fire by night) so His presence (God with us) could be seen as it moved. A similar event accompanied the dedication of the temple built by Solomon where the glory of God had a palpable identity as seen in Ps. 11:4 The LORD is in his holy temple The presence of God in the tent implies fellowship, provision, protection, refuge
