21 Weekly Craft Activity Framed Verse Materials: Construction paper Copy of verse Box of decorations Yarn Glue the verse to the construction paper. Glue the decorations to the edges of the paper. Tape the string onto the completed sign to make a hanger. 21

41 Weekly Craft Activity Tissue Trees Materials: Tree Paper Tissue paper (cut into small squares) Crayons Glue Students can color trees. Scrunch tissue paper into balls- glue on to trees to signify flowers. Children can draw a picture of themselves between the trees. Optional: Students can draw or make apples for the trees. Write: God made trees for me to climb and grass to run in. 41

47 Let me tell you a Bible story, said Grandpa while he tucked Taylor into bed. Yes, yes, I love Bible stories, Taylor replied. 47

49 One day, Grandpa began, Jesus was talking to his disciples. Soon I will go away, he said to them. No, no, please don t go away, they replied. I must, I have important things to do. What are you going to do? they asked him. I am going away to prepare a place for you. In my Father s house there are many rooms, and I am going to prepare them for you. 49

51 The end. The End? said Taylor, Then what happened? Well, Jesus did what He said, said Grandpa. 51

53 He went to heaven to prepare a place for everyone. You mean for his disciples? asked Taylor. No, for everyone, replied Grandpa. But not for me, I m just a kid. 53

55 Actually, Jesus loves kids. He said so. They are very special to Him. Really? So, what do you think my room will look like? It will be very, very special because Jesus loves you very, very much. 55

57 Weekly Craft Activity Build a House Materials: Copies of house picture Different cutout shapes Glue Crayons Have children color the picture of the house. They can add the shapes to represent windows, doors, trees, etc. Optional: Write: In my father s house there are many rooms. Older children can draw a picture of themselves. 57

59 Toddler Version A Room For You Let me tell you a story, said Grandpa to Taylor. One day Jesus was walking and talking to his disciples. Soon I will go away and prepare a room for you in my Father s house. Then what happened? asked Taylor. Jesus did what he said: He went and prepared a place for all of us in Heaven! For me too? asked Taylor. Yes, because Jesus love you very much! 59

65 Jesus was having a very busy day. He was walking and talking to people about God. His disciples were with him. 65

67 Many children saw Jesus coming. Mommy, Daddy, there is Jesus, they said. Let s go see him, replied their parents. 67

69 When they got to the house where Jesus was talking, his disciples were waiting at the door. Go home, Jesus is too busy, they told the children and their parents. No, came a voice from inside. Let the children come. It was Jesus; he wanted to see all of the children. They slowly walked into the house. 69

71 Everyone was looking at them, but Jesus had a big smile on his face. He lifted one of them on his lap and placed his hand on another s head. He was so happy to be with them. And the children were happy too. They could tell that Jesus loved them. Jesus loves all children, he loved children then, and he loves you now. 71

73 Weekly Craft Activity Heart Weaving Materials: Two construction paper hearts of the same size- with holes punched around edges. Yarn Crayons Write: Jesus Loves Me on the hearts (or have children copy that from a piece of paper.) Children can color the heart with crayons. Thread yarn through both hearts at the same point and tie; children thread the yarn through the holes weaving around the edges attaching both hearts Hint: you will probably have to put tape around the end of the yarn to keep it from fraying. Optional: Have children draw a picture of Jesus on one heart and write Jesus loves me on the other. 73

74 Let the Children Come: Toddler Version Jesus was having a very busy day. Many children saw Jesus coming. Let s go see him! they declared. Jesus wanted to see all of the children. Jesus was happy to be with them. He loves all children and he loves you now. 74
