4 LONG SERVICE LEAVE-PASTOR PAUL Pastor Paul, Senior Pastor, is on Long Service Leave. He will be returning to ministry on 1 st March Pastoral Team - During this time Pastor Joanne Dealy will be Lead Pastor for the Pastoral Team. She will also participate in the Church Council as a non-voting member during Paul s absence. During this time Jo can help you with any pastoral enquires. Preaching Program Working with the Preaching Team Paul has arranged the preaching program for January and February. The Preaching Team including guest preacher Rev. Chris Barnden will do the Summer Series during January. Jo and Scott will begin the first series for 2017 preaching during February. Paul will re-commence preaching on Sunday, 11 th March Mission and Ministry - As you can see while Pastor Paul is on leave the mission and ministry of SBC continues. Don t miss out on being renewed and refreshed during the Summer Series in January, or the exciting start to the 2017 ministry year in February. until Sunday, 29th January

5 Roger Van Landenberg led a devotion based on Matthew 28:18-20 and Psalm 31:24. Craig Wales was our special guest on the night. Craig has taken over the responsibility of OHS, He came along to the council meeting to present to us the Building evacuation procedure and associated building report. There is going to be more details put into the evacuation procedure, like first aid holders that we have in church. A list will be put together and once we have all the details the church will be presented with the final procedure. Craig will also be responsible for keeping the BUV Red Book up to date. Craig and Steve will be working closely together to ensure policies and procedures are up to date. Jo presented her report as lead pastor highlighting the theme for 2017 will be Daring Faith. We will be starting a church wide study titled Daring Faith by Rick Warren on the 12 th Of February. Jo has also been meeting with Scott and Paulina on a weekly basis and also with Christine Eldaief (Chairperson). Gary Fielding delivered his report highlighting that the offering for the month of October was 104%. Steve Staunton continues to work on the leader s code of conduct policy. Roger closed the meeting in prayer. SBC Council would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a very happy and blessed Thank you for your prayers and support throughout this year. Summer Program K@S will continue through the holidays, re-commencing after Christmas on Sunday the 15 th of January. (Activity sheets will be provided on Jan 1 st & 8 th in the service) We will gear up for Term 1 with activities, games and movies as we chill out this Summer! Things you need to know. Time 10am Sunday s during January starting Jan 15th Sign in - In the foyer as you enter Church and kids just head on upstairs when you see the signal! Finish - Explorers & Pioneers will head back downstairs when we finish, while the Adventurers will be bought down by the leaders to the foyer for sign out.

When you do your usual shopping, pick up an extra item or 2, bring the items to our Sunday service. All non perishable food and drink: (Canned food with ring pull ) Pasta and Rice, Nappies Baby food: Formula, jars of Food, Toiletries & Household goods: Toilet paper, Sanitary items, tissues, toothpaste, soap, and washing Detergent.
