Unconditional Lifetime Warranty 2011A-0927 RLH 48V 300 Watt Solar Power Supply Solar power system with 72AH backup battery in NEMA-4X Cabinet Overview The RLH 300W solar power supply is a fully integrated solution provide remote powering for industrial equipment. RLH solar power supplies are engineered with durable and highly efficient solar electric panels to ensure reliable operation in any geographical region. The charge controller continuously maintains the correct 48V charge level on the 75Ah battery pack, and ensures a seamless power transition to battery power when needed. The charge controller allows maximum array current to flow into the batteries, and the temperature sensor adjusts the charging current based on ambient conditions. A digital LCD display shows battery voltage, solar amps, equipment amps, and battery level. The gel batteries are sealed and maintenance free, and are field replaceable. The system includes a NEMA-4X outdoor rated, aluminum cabinet to house the batteries, charge controller and related equipment. The cabinet may wall or pole mounted (pole mount kit optional), and includes mounting hardware. The cabinet comes pre-wired and includes a fuse to protect the system. 3 Installation Plan the installation of the battery/charge controller cabinet and solar panel array prior to installation. For best results, mount the cabinet as close to the panels as practicable. Mount the cabinet and Install and connect the batteries prior to connecting the solar panels. Refer to the battery/charge controller cabinet wiring diagram. Mount the solar panel assembly in an appropriate South facing (in the Northern hemisphere) location. The location should be free of shadow between the hours of 9:00am and 3:00pm For the maximum power generation, the solar panels must be situated with the proper amount of tilt for the latitude of installation. Refer to the latitudinal chart to determine the proper amount of tilt for your location. Note that all figures refer to angle from horizontal. For pole mounting, mount the panel assembly to a 4 diameter pole using the U-bolts provided. Alternatively, mount the panel to a wall using appropriate hardware depending on the type of structure. Adjust the telescoping tilt legs for optimum sun angle, and tighten all bolts securely after making adjustments. Since the top of the panel is close to the wall/pole mounting, it is best to route the panel wiring at the top. The panel wiring is connected directly to the solar battery charge controller inside the battery cabinet. A section of wiring and liquid tight conduit is provided for ease of installation. Refer to the charge controller operation manual for additional information on the displays and indicators of the charge controller.
