1 DI382 DIAGNOSTICS DI4LA27 DTC B1158/B1159/16 (LH) Malfunction CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION The front airbag sensor (LH) circuit consists of the airbag sensor assembly and front airbag sensor (LH). For details of the function of each component, see OPERATION on page RS2. DTC B1158/B1159/16 is recorded when malfunction is detected in the front airbag sensor (LH) circuit. 2 DIAGNOSTICS DI383 INSPECTION PROCEDURE 1 Prepare for inspection (See step 1 on page DI390 ). 2 Check wire harness (to B+). (LH) ON (a) Turn the ignition switch to ON. (b) For the connector (on the airbag sensor assembly side) between the front airbag sensor (LH) and the airbag sensor assembly, measure the voltage between body ground and each of and SL. : Voltage: Below 1 V SL+ H03355 AB0119 H08065 () SL H10972 Go to step 8. 3 Check wire harness (to ground). (LH) For the connector (on the airbag sensor assembly side) between the front airbag sensor (LH) and the airbag sensor assembly, measure the resistance between body ground and each of and SL. : Resistance: 1 MΩ or Higher SL+ H03355 H08399 () SL H10973 Go to step

(LH) For the connector (on the airbag sensor assembly side) between the front airbag sensor (LH) and the airbag sensor assembly, measure the resistance between and SL. : Resistance: 1 MΩ or Higher SL+ H03355 H08058 () SL H10974 Go to step Check wire harness. (LH) SL+ SL SL+ Using a service wire, connect and SL of the connector (on the front airbag sensor (LH) side) between the airbag sensor assembly and the front airbag sensor (LH). For the connector (on the airbag sensor assembly side) between the front airbag sensor (LH) and the airbag sensor assembly, measure the resistance between and SL. : Resistance: Below 1 Ω () SL H03353 H09521H08058 H12942 Go to step
4 DIAGNOSTICS DI385 6 Check front airbag sensor (LH). (LH) For the connector of the front airbag sensor (LH), measure the resistance between and SL. : Resistance: Ω SL H04504 H01062 () H08346 Replace front airbag sensor (LH). 555
5 DI386 DIAGNOSTICS 7 Check airbag sensor assembly. (LH) CG DLC3 H02757 AB0119 H10600 H01064 Tc ON DTC B1158/B1159/16 H10647 (a) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK. (b) Disconnect negative () terminal cable from the battery, and wait at least for 90 seconds. (c) Connect the front airbag sensor (LH) connector and airbag sensor assembly connector. (d) Connect negative () terminal cable to the battery, and wait at least for 2 seconds. (a) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 20 seconds. (b) Clear DTC stored in memory (See step 5 on page DI239 ). (c) Turn the ignition switch to LOCK, and wait at least for 20 seconds. (d) Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait at least for 20 seconds. (e) Check DTC (See page DI239 ). : DTC B1158/B1159/16 is not output. HINT: Codes other than code B1156/B1157/15 may be output at this time, but they are not relevant to this check. Replace airbag sensor assembly. From the results of the above inspection, the malfunctioning part can now be considered normal. To make sure of this, use the simulation method to check. 556
6 DIAGNOSTICS DI387 8 Check engine room main wire harness (to B+). (LH) H03354 AB0119 H08297 Engine Room Main Wire Harness ON () SL H10648 Disconnect the engine room main wire harness connector on the airbag sensor assembly side. (a) Turn the ignition switch to ON. (b) For the connector (on the engine room main wire harness side) between the airbag sensor assembly and the engine room main wire harness, measure the voltage between body ground and each of and SL. : Voltage: Below 1 V Repair or replace engine room main wire harness. Repair or replace harness or connector between airbag sensor assembly and engine room main wire harness. 9 Check engine room main wire harness (to ground). (LH) Engine Room Main Wire Harness SL Disconnect the engine room main wire harness connector on the airbag sensor assembly side.
