2 1 Software History 1.1 Applicable Models PV-GS300, PV-GS500, PV-GS230, PV-GS320, PV-GS37, PV-GS47, PV-GS57, PV-GS Applicable Included Software SweetMovieLife 1.0E Quick Movie Magic 1.0E 1.3 Post Update Version SweetMovieLife 1.1E L Release Date 2 July Purpose Enables compatibility of the SweetMovieLife and Quick Movie Magic software with Microsoft Windows Vista Home Basic and Home Premium editions for customers who purchased one of the above listed camcorder models and received SweetMovieLife 1.0 or Quick Movie Magic version 1.0E as an included accessory. 3 2 Download Software 1) Left click on the DOWNLOAD icon for the Quick Movie Magic 1.1E software. - Quick Movie Magic 1.1E L04 Software 2) Left click on SAVE. The file name displayed should be SweetMovieLifeE_setup.exe. 3) Left click on DESKTOP, and then left click on SAVE. NOTE: The SweetMovieLifeE_Setup.exe file will be saved to the DESKTOP. 4) Shut down the computer. Page 3 of 8

4 3 Install Software 3.1 Windows Vista Pre-Installed on Computer NOTE: The computer should be OFF before beginning these steps. 1) Plug the AC power cord into an electrical outlet and the AC adapter. 2) Plug the DC power cord into the AC adapter and the camcorder. 3) Set the camcorder s [MODE DIAL] to TAPE PLAYBACK mode. 4) In the camcorder s MENU, set the USB FUNCTION to DV DATA or MOTION DV. 5) Connect the camcorder to an active USB port on the PC via the USB cable. (It is recommended to use a USB 2.0 port.) 6) Turn on the computer and log onto a User Account with Administrator privileges. 7) Once the computer boots up and completes loading all applications in the STARTUP folder, disable all applications that are currently active, to include SECURITY and ANTI- VIRUS applications. 8) Double-click on the SweetMovieLifeE_Setup.exe file on the DESKTOP. NOTE: The below screen will state the files are being extracted and verified. Page 4 of 8

5 9) When the SweetMovieLife InstallShield Wizard screen appears, left click on NEXT, and then follow the instructions in the screens to complete its installation. 10) After the installation is complete, open SweetMovieLife, left click on HELP, and then left click on VERSION INFORMATION. NOTE: If the version displayed is SweetMovieLife 1.1E Ver. 1.1L004, the installation has been successful. 3.2 Windows XP Installed on Computer and Upgrading to Windows Vista 1) Uninstall Quick Movie Magic. 2) Upgrade the computer to Windows Vista. 3) Shut down the computer after Windows Vista upgrade is complete. (Turn the computer OFF.) NOTE: The computer should be OFF before beginning these steps. 4) Plug the AC power cord into an electrical outlet and the AC adapter. 5) Plug the DC power cord into the AC adapter and the camcorder. 6) Set the camcorder s [MODE DIAL] to TAPE PLAYBACK mode. 7) In the camcorder s MENU, set the camcorder s USB FUNCTION to DV DATA or MOTION DV. 8) Connect the camcorder to an active USB port on the PC via the USB cable. NOTE: The below screen will be displayed as the files are extracted and verified. 12) When the SweetMovieLife InstallShield Wizard screen appears, left click on NEXT, and then follow the instructions in the screens to complete its installation. 13) After the installation is complete, open SweetMovieLife, left click on HELP and then left click on VERSION INFORMATION. 7 3.3 Upgrade to Windows Vista Completed without Uninstalling MotionDV Studio. NOTE: The computer should be OFF before beginning these steps. 1) Plug the AC power cord into an electrical outlet and the AC adapter. 2) Plug the DC power cord into the AC adapter and the camcorder. 3) Set the camcorder s [MODE DIAL] to TAPE PLAYBACK mode. 4) In the camcorder s MENU, set the camcorder s USB FUNCTION to DV DATA or MOTION DV. 5) Connect the camcorder to an active USB port on the PC via the USB cable. (It is recommended to use a USB 2.0 port.) 6) Turn on the computer and log onto a User Account with Administrator privileges. 7) Once the computer boots up and completes loading all applications in the STARTUP folder, disable all applications that are currently active, to include SECURITY and ANTI- VIRUS applications. 8) Double-click on the SweetMovieLifeE_Setup.exe file on the DESKTOP. NOTE: If a message stating there is a current version of SweetMovieLife or Quick Movie Magic that must be uninstalled, exit the InstallShield Wizard. Go to the CONTROL PANEL and uninstall the specified application. After uninstall is complete, RESTART the computer. Begin at STEP 8) after the computer restarts. NOTE: The below screen will be displayed as the files are extracted and verified. Page 7 of 8

8 9) When the SweetMovieLife InstallShield Wizard screen appears, left click on NEXT, and then follow the instructions in the screens to complete its installation. 10) After the installation is complete, open SweetMovieLife, left click on HELP and then left click on VERSION INFORMATION.
