1 Hush-O-Matic Electronic Control Pack Congratulations on your purchase! The Hush-O-Matic Electronic Control kit allows you choose two of three modes: always quiet, always loud and active mode. The ON and OFF buttons on the key fob switch between the two. These instructions default to always quiet and active mode by pressing the ON button on the key fob. See below for different active/loud/quiet setups.

2 WARNING: Not everyone can perform every installation. It is critical that you be honest with yourself, in regards to your ability. We re more than happy to help, but there are only so many things we can do from the other end of a phone / computer. If in doubt, discuss the install with us before you dive in. Required tools: 10 mm Socket Ratchet Socket Wrench Wire/Side Cutter Pliers Wire Stripper Wire Crimping tool Heat Gun Small Flat Screwdriver 1. Begin by locating the fuse panel under the hood, then remove its cover. There are seven tabs (next step) and one 10mm nut holding it in place. Remove the nut (1) and disconnect the two electrical connectors located at the back of the fuse panel (2) Use a small flat blade screwdriver to carefully pry the eight tabs while gently pulling up on the fuse panel to gain access to the wires underneath. 3. Here is the remote control relay ( ). The wires are labeled according to function. There are two black ground wires. They are both used and are interchangeable

3 4. On the fuse panel locate the fuse labeled C/U IG1. Then locate the brown wire coming out from under it. Of the two wires connected to fuse C/U IG1 it is the wire nearest the firewall, farthest from the front of the car. 5. Tee the RED wire from the remote control relay into this wire using a 3-way butt connector ( ). The butt connector has a blue stripe and a red stripe. The end with the red stripe is for the single wire. The blue end is for two wires. Insert the wires into the butt connector and crimp them. Give the wires a tug to make sure the crimp is good. Use a heat gun to shrink the butt connector plastic around the wires. 6. Locate the black wire under the fuse panel shown here. It goes to the larger of the two connectors from step Tee one of the BLACK ground wires from the remote control relay into this wire using another 3-way butt connector ( ). Use the same method from step 5.

4 8. Tuck the remote control relay under the fuse panel on the side nearest the engine. Feed the BLUE, WHITE and BLACK wires out the front of the fuse panel, making sure that none will be pinched. Snap the fuse panel back in place. No pinched wires, right? Plug the white connectors back in and replace the 10mm nut from step 1. Replace the panel cover. Tuck the BLUE wire out of the way. It is the antenna for the key fob and doesn t need to be connected to anything. 9. Mount the vacuum solenoid to the FM mounting bracket (which is stainless steel, not purple plastic) using the supplied M3 hardware ( , , , ). Install the barbed fittings as shown ( , (90 ), 90 fitting goes in the front hole). Use some teflon thread paste on the threads. The fittings have tapered threads so they will not bottom out. Good and snug will work fine here. 10. Find the 10mm nut between the shock top and brake master cylinder, and mount the vacuum solenoid. Again, a prototype bracket is shown - the production piece is stainless steel. 11. Take the WHITE and BLACK wires from step 8. Connect these wires to the wires coming out of the solenoid. It does not matter which is power or ground. Use the dual lead wire ( ) and four butt connectors ( ) to lengthen as necessary. Crimp the butt connectors and give the wires a tug to make sure the crimps are good. Heat shrink the plastic around the butt connector with a heat gun. Route the wires along the existing stock wire harness and zip tie in place.

5 12. Find the vacuum line that was installed between the muffler and the tee on the back of the intake manifold (it s the smallest vacuum line on the tee). Remove this line from the tee and install it on port 2 on the vacuum solenoid. Now use a section of supplied 4mm vacuum hose ( ) to connect the open barb on the tee to port 1 on the vacuum solenoid. 13. Take the cap off the end of the metal brake booster line (3) and use the 3 section of 3/8 hose ( ) and install it on the vacuum fitting. Next install the 3/8 to 1/4 reducing elbow ( ). Connect the supplied 1/4 vacuum hose to the reducer. Connect the other end of this vacuum line to port 3 on the vacuum solenoid. Trim the vacuum line as necessary. No hose clamps are necessary, aside from the stock one on brake booster line The default for this setup is always quiet. Pressing the ON button on the key fob switches to active mode. If you would like the default to be active mode, switch the positions of the hoses on ports 1 and 3 on the vacuum solenoid. Keep in mind this setup will be loud for a few seconds on cold start up. 15. We don t recommend it, but it is possible to have an always loud setting. Replace the cap on the brake booster line (step 13) and leave the 1/4 hose open to atmosphere. Secure it as needed so it won t fall on the hot exhaust. Now, pressing the ON button will switch to always loud. If you swap the hoses on ports 1 and 3 (like in step 14), it ll default to always loud and ON will be active mode. Congratulations! You are done with the installation. If you skipped steps 14 and / or 15 this installation method allows you to switch between always quiet (OFF button on the key fob) and active mode (ON button on the key fob). When you start your car the default will be always quiet (OFF). Press the ON button for a second to switch to active mode. Go for a drive and have some fun!!
