5 The 3M Tegaderm Foam Dressings Range Tegaderm Foam and Tegaderm Foam Adhesive TIP: Ensure that Tegaderm Foam Adhesive and Tegaderm Foam dressing overlaps wound edge by 2.5cm or 1 Head Use Tegaderm Foam Adhesive Dressings for occipital pressure ulcers. Breast Tegaderm Foam Adhesive Dressing oval shapes available (10x11cm oval), (14x15cm oval) and (14x14cm heel) to conform to the anatomy of the patient. Neck / Throat Use Tegaderm Foam Dressing (8.8cmx8.8cm fenestrated) around tracheostomy sites, PEG sites, super pubic catheter and drain sites. Elbows and Knee Use Tegaderm Foam Adhesive Dressing (14x14cm heel) for easy one-handed application and superior conformability over bony prominences. 6 3M Tegaderm Foam Adhesive Application Procedure Remove the 3M backing paper liner to expose the adhesive border. Holding the two end tabs, centre over wound area. Gently press into place. Avoid stretching the dressing or the skin during application. Starting from the centre, remove all spokes outwards whilst gently pressing down the film border. TIP: Ensure that Tegaderm Foam Adhesive dressing overlaps wound edge by 2.5cm or 1 Tegaderm Foam Application Procedure Position dressing over the wound with edges overlapping onto intact skin. Ensure blue grid and 3M logos show top side up. Picture frame the dressing with surgical tape or strips of Tegaderm Film. Cover only the edges of the dressing to maintain moisture vapour evaporation. NOTE: Covering Tegaderm Foam Dressing with a transparent film dressing will reduce its fluid handling performance. TIP: Ensure that Tegaderm Foam dressing overlaps wound edge by 2.5cm or 1 Use Cavilon No Sting Barrier Film to protect and treat sore or broken skin and also apply around wounds for long-lasting protection Use Cavilon Durable Barrier Cream to prevent intact and at-risk skin from damage caused by bodily fluids.
