2 Who are we: The (IBDU) is a project management team that has been set up to bring together Griffith University s world class education and expertise to provide specialised extended and short term non-award and professional development programs for international bodies, as well as management of international development programs both home and abroad. IBDU has had over 20 years of success and expertise in designing, delivering and managing customised training, capacity building and institutional strengthening programs.

Australian Leadership Awards Fellowships Public Sector Linkages Program (PSLP) Pacific Public Sector Linkages Program (PacPSLP) Australia Awards for Africa
9 Australian Leadership Awards Fellowships Develop leadership, address priority regional issues and build partnerships and linkages with developing countries Global program that complements AusAID s scholarship program. Fellowships do not lead to academic qualifications. Available across a broad range of fields relevant to Australia s foreign policy agenda or development issues Aid themes: Disability, Disaster risk reduction, Economic growth, Education, Environment, Food security, Gender equality, Governance, Health, Human rights, Infrastructure, Millennium Development Goals, Mine action, Regional stability, Rural development & Water and sanitation
10 Australian Leadership Awards Fellowships Individuals cannot apply for an ALA Fellowship directly. Applications are restricted to Australian organisations demonstrating ongoing linkages with counterpart overseas organisations in eligible countries, through MOUs Prospective fellows identified by Australian organisations must be professionals already in leadership positions or have a potential to assume leadership roles that can influence social and economic policy reform and development outcomes. A maximum of $35,000 per Fellow is available which can include: flights, course costs, accommodation, stipend, insurance etc.
11 Australian Leadership Awards Fellowships Eligible Countries are:- Asia Pacific Burma (Myanmar) has been included in the list of eligible countries. We will be accepting applications for programs that relate to Burma in Round 8. Latin America and Caribbean Africa Iraq and Palestinian Territories For a list of eligible countries

13 Public Sector Linkages Program (PSLP) & Pacific Public Sector Linkages Program (PacPSLP) Aims to improve public sector capacity for governance and management for nationally determined development outcomes in selected partner Asian and Pacific nations. PSLP offers departments and agencies of Australian federal, state and territory governments, as well as Australian public universities, the opportunity to compete for grant funding that will: transfer capacity building skills and expertise to their public sector counterpart institutions in partner countries support strengthening of sustainable development-focused public sector bilateral and regional linkages
14 Public Sector Linkages Program (PSLP) & Pacific Public Sector Linkages Program (PacPSLP) Activities must: have a primary developmental focus comply with AusAID development policy guidelines on gender and development, poverty reduction, environment and sustainability clearly identify sustainable benefits to the partner country be planned and implemented jointly with the counterpart organisations concerned. Activities will be delivered mainly in the form of technical assistance and training and can include: institutional strengthening and/or capacity-building in partner countries short-term training in either the partner country or Australia in-australia secondments and work attachments secondments of Australian staff in the partner country applied policy research, feasibility studies and small projects (excluding basic research)
15 Public Sector Linkages Program (PSLP) & Pacific Public Sector Linkages Program (PacPSLP) Amount Funded: Grants are generally, but not necessarily, between $50,000 and $250,000. PSLP (2 3 rounds annually and PacPSLP funded annually). Duration: Proposed Activities generally will be self-contained and be from 3 to 36 months. Activities should be long enough to transfer capacity building skills and build sustainable development-focused linkages. PSLP is administered by a dedicated PSLP Secretariat in Canberra. It is flexible and responsive and can meet the different needs of: its diverse range of users and target countries the varying significance of particular sectors, issues and approaches the requirements of evolving Australian whole-of-government priorities.
