1 Healed 3 John 2 2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. NKJV o Healing starts with what I believe o Jesus came to make me whole o Free from fears and frustration o Bringing spiritual, physical and mental healing The healing God brings and I receive is based on His love Faith works through love Galatians 5:6 Even though His healing brings spiritual, physical and mental healing it is so much more than that His healing is to make us Whole. Healthy relations, healthy attitudes, healthy habits God is interested in every detail of our lives When we don t allow Him in it is virtually impossible to receive the deliverance we need Psalm 37:23 23 He delights in every detail of their lives. NLT Luke 12:6-7 6 "What is the price of five sparrows? A couple of pennies? Yet God does not forget a single one of them. 7 And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. 2 My life and your life, are as much a necessary part of God s design as the thread the weaver weaves into the pattern of his carpet. Not only am I responsible to Him, He is responsible for me. The course of our lives is His business. Oral Roberts God s desire is to give us a more abundant life full of joy and strength. God not only wants us to use our faith to be healed but to also change our life so we can successfully meet the enemies of life o What we believe about healing is very important o Many times when healing someone Jesus would say Your faith has made you well Matthew 9: While He spoke these things to them, behold, a ruler came and worshiped Him, saying, "My daughter has just died, but come and lay Your hand on her and she will live." 19 So Jesus arose and followed him, and so did His disciples. 20 And suddenly, a woman who had a flow of blood for twelve years came from behind and touched the hem of His garment. 21 For she said to herself, "If only I may touch His garment, I shall be made well." 22 But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her He said, "Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well." And the woman was made well from that hour. NKJV o When she touched Him in faith she was immediately healed o This is freedom and abundant life Page 2 of 8

Know that God s will is to heal you Most people recognize that God has healing power Our struggle is in believing it is for today or for me If we believe that God would heal one and not another then we really don t believe in the love of God o God so love the world. John 3:16 o Not willing that any should perish 2 Peter 3:9 1 John 4: There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. 19 We love Him because He first loved us. NKJV o Gods love heals o God loves everyone the same o Therefore God heals everyone the same Isaiah 53:5 5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. NKJV 1 Peter 2:24 24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness by whose stripes you were healed. NKJV Page 3 of 8

4 Matthew 8: When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, 17 that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: "He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses." NKJV o When Jesus heals he is setting us free from the oppression of the Devil o Sickness is not listed as a blessing from the Lord see Deuteronomy 28 o It is always considered a curse o Sickness is the enemy of life Acts 10:38 38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him. NKJV Job 42:10 10 And the LORD restored Job's losses when he prayed for his friends. Indeed the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before. NKJV Sickness is listed as one of the curses of the law in Deuteronomy 28 Jesus came to set us free from the curse of the law Page 4 of 8

5 Galatians 3:13 13 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us (for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree"). NKJV Sickness is something to be healed and destroyed by faith Mark 16: And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover." NKJV James 5:15 15 And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. NKJV Healing was and still is a significant part of the atoning power of Jesus It seemed as if Jesus was either on His way to heal, in the process of healing or just finished healing someone Matthew 9:18-19, While He spoke these things to them, behold, a ruler came and worshiped Him, saying, "My daughter has just died, but come and lay Your hand on her and she will live." 19 So Jesus arose and followed him, and so did His disciples. 6 23 When Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the flute players and the noisy crowd wailing, 24 He said to them, "Make room, for the girl is not dead, but sleeping." And they ridiculed Him. 25 But when the crowd was put outside, He went in and took her by the hand, and the girl arose. 26 And the report of this went out into all that land. 27 When Jesus departed from there, two blind men followed Him, crying out and saying,"son of David, have mercy on us!" 28 And when He had come into the house, the blind men came to Him. And Jesus said to them, "Do you believe that I am able to do this?" They said to Him, "Yes, Lord." 29 Then He touched their eyes, saying, "According to your faith let it be to you." 30 And their eyes were opened. NKJV o Then casts out a demon Vs. 32, 33 o It is Gods will to heal me! o It is Gods will to heal you! When Blind Bartimaeus shouted out to Jesus on the road the disciples told him to be quiet. Jesus commanded them to bring him to Him He asked what do you want me to do for you? Mark 10: The blind man said to Him, "Rabboni, that I may receive my sight." 52 Then Jesus said to him, "Go your way; your faith has made you well." And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road. NKJV Page 6 of 8

7 2. Healing begins within Your soul governs your physical life. Illnesses, distresses and torments can be passed on from your mind to your body You can suffer from things like heart trouble, high blood pressure, ulcers and some forms of asthma. High tension, nervousness, insecurity, lack of faith, fear, and frustrations are symptoms of a man s soul sickness Proverbs 17:22 22 A merry heart does good, like medicine, But a broken spirit dries the bones. NKJV o Broken Smitten (to strike or hit) We must change the way we think Once we become born again we should not allow sinful behavior in our lives Romans 6:2 NKJV 2 How shall we who died to sin live any longer in it? If we are dominated by fear and anxiety we are not in faith We are out of tune with God A guitar responds to the touch of my fingers Body = Guitar, Soul = Fingers Sin is the only thing that can separate us from God Isaiah 59:2 2 But your iniquities have separated you from your God; And your sins have hidden His face from you. 8 1 John 3:21 21 Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. NKJV o Everyone has faith whether we are right with God or not o Faith will not work in our life as long as there is sin o Sin produces a division in the soul Separation from God o Without the power of active faith the soul is no match for the grueling grind of life James 1:6-8 6 But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. NKJV James 2:17 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. NKJV The bottom line is you can not serve the devil with your life without losing out in the battle of life There can not be a physical healing until a miracle has happened in your soul When we refuse God to heal our soul we stop the flow of his healing power Let God into your soul and let His healing virtue into your body!
