1 Welcome express your soul s beauty SUPPLY LIST We have tried to keep the supply list small, but it would be great if you would consider stepping outside your comfort zone and investing a little in your beautiful creative heart. I have included links in Canada and the U.S. for now, and as other people sign up for the course I will try to add more links for other countries. Many of these supplies are available on Amazon as well. My best suggestion is to support your local art supply store. Do a google search and you will likely come up with some shops you didn t know existed. These shop owners are usually helpful and knowledgable. The one supply must have is a blank page journal dedicated to the course. All of the other materials are suggestions. I have also broken down the suggested materials needed for each week of the course. That way, you are welcome to see the exercises first, then decide if you want to purchase the suggested materials, or use what you have on hand around the home or office....2

2 - 2 - SUGGESTED COURSE MATERIALS: One hard cover journal with a minimum size of 8.5 x 11 inches. The inside pages should be blank white and thick enough to draw, or paint on. Pictured below are journals similar to the two I used in the Journal demonstration videos. 3 - 3 - SUGGESTED COURSE MATERIALS to decorate your journal: JOURNAL IDEA #1 SUPPLIES If you want to decorate your journal by making a journal cover. This is journal idea one in the video. You can watch the video for how to info; - a sheet of plain newsprint, which you can decorate and colour as you move through the course - a large sheet of scrap paper, paper you plan to decorate, wrapping paper you love, etc. JOURNAL IDEA #2 SUPPLIES If you want to decorate your journal by making journal idea two, the following supplies can usually be purchased at a dollar store, or of course, an art supply store; - a foam to 1.5 inches wide - small acrylic paints in white, black and the 3 primary colours, blue, red and yellow (because you can make any colour under the rainbow with the primaries!) - a minimum of two paint brushes, one with a very small tip and one with a broader tip JOURNAL IDEA #3 SUPPLIES If you want to decorate your journal by making journal idea three, the following supplies can usually be purchased at a dollar store, or of course, an art supply store; - a foam to 1.5 inches wide - small acrylic paints in white, black and the 3 primary colours, blue, red and yellow (because you can make any colour under the rainbow with the primaries!) - a minimum of two paint brushes, one with a very small tip and one with a broader tip - a small container of mod podge, or gel medium transparent to collage with...4

4 - 4 - SUGGESTED COURSE MATERIALS for the weekly exercises: The following supplies can easily be purchased at a dollar store. They do not need to be fine quality for you to have fun with them. - a box of crayons and please make sure there is a white crayon in the set - a small watercolour set with primary colours - a set of coloured pencils - small craft paints in primary colours, red, blue, yellow, and white (black optional) - a small fine point artist paintbrush suitable for both watercolour and acrylic paints - optional - a set of thick coloured markers for scribbling exercises Materials that would be great to have (and have extra fun with); - newsprint sheets in either 12 x 18 or 18 x 24 inches, comes in a package and - a couple of paint colours you love, in addition to the primary colours - a Tombow double ended marker, which is also acts as a watercolour pen - a couple of higher end markers in colours you love - some chalk pastels, or Panpastels - a pad of cold pressed watercolour paper - a white gel pen NOTE: If you watch the journal demo videos you will be able to see me using many of the suggested materials. 5 - 5 - Materials Week to Week Week #1 - crayons - pencil or pen For after class exercise - pen, or pencil, something to colour with Week #2, or newsprint sheets if you have them - crayons, pencil or pen, cheap markers if you have them, or watercolour paper if you have it - small set of basic watercolour paints, or make your own with food colouring/coffee/tea/berries, etc. - your white crayon - a soft pencil, or Tombow marker if you have it Week #3, or watercolour paper if you have it - your set of coloured pencils - pastels if you have them, and additional coloured markers if you have them - sturdy paper - coloured pencils, markers, pastels, and/or watercolour paints - scissors - optional 4 brads...6

6 - 6 - Week #4 or newsprint sheets if you have them - crayons, pencil crayons, and/or cheap markers for scribbling - pen and pencil Week #5 or a sheet of watercolour paper - a smooth flowing pen, or black magic marker - sturdy paper, card stock paper or construction paper - scissors, and mod podge if you have it, glue if you don t - clear tape Week #6 or one sheet of watercolour paper - a pencil - things to colour with like coloured pencils, pastels, markers, watercolour paints, acrylic paints - access to outside yard or park - a bag to collect items Week #7, or watercolour paper, or thick computer paper - your watercolour set - a jar of water - your paintbrushes - a drinking straw - a piece of light coloured fabric, preferably a natural fibre like cotton, muslim or silk - your favourite acrylic paint colour, or colours - access to outside yard, balcony or park - plastic bag or newspaper

A lot of artists apparently think so. I think it comes from the awakening person. Awakening is what you might call the spiritual. It is a linkage to something flowing very rapidly through the air, and I can put my finger on it and plug in, so to speak. Do artists need a spiritual way or do we need art?
