Each Liberty Door is constructed with the highest quality, laminated stave core construction to ensure maximum strength. The core of a Liberty Door is manufactured by multiple pieces of lumber glued together with solid wood face veneers. The stresses of each piece of lumber within the core work against each other, resulting in a door that does not bow, bend, or twist over time. 3 Wood Selection STYLE raised flat glass PURPOSE interior exterior DESIGN CONFIGURATION choose one create your own SPECIES wood glass options Oak Soft Maple The dense, durable wood accompanied by a uniform grain is one of the most common domestic hardwoods available. It s light brown to slightly reddish color is extremely versatile allowing it to compliment any style of home. The medium fine texture is also receptive to a variety of stains and finishes and retains its natural characteristics. The growth rings found on soft maple are less distinct and lighter in color. The sapwood is typically grayish white in color with variations of darker reddish brown. With a fine texture and close grain it has an ample surface for staining and finishing. The medium density and strength of the soft maple creates stability and allows for adequate machining. Hickory Douglas Fir Hickory is noted for its hardness, durability, and strength among the hardwoods. With an unpredictable grain that can appear straight or sometimes wavy, hickory can come in a range of colors from blond to deep reddish brown. The dramatic character of the species is increased by random knots and mineral streaks throughout. Most renowned for its strength, durability, and ability to withstand the elements. Light tan in color with the heartwood aging into a rich tannish red gives the Douglas Fir a rich color. The close grain and tight knotted wood can also hold various paints and stains. The clean lines and deep color gives the species a lasting appeal for any home. Poplar Naturally the species has a light yellow brown color with variations of green tints. Exposure to light tends to darken the green colors to brown. The typically straight and even grain is easily stained or painted due to its smooth surface. Poplar is very resistant to splitting making it simple to machine. Ash Ash wood typically consists of a very uniform and consistent grain. It is pale white in color, with brownish red strands throughout. When stained the coarse grain is still evident. Ash is extremely dense and durable and withstands the elements well. After machining, cherry is smooth to touch and can be beautifully finished. Over time the species tends to darken giving off a rich, warm color to add elegance to any room. African Mahogany An exotic wood with a light to deep reddish brown color is extremely durable and rot resistant. The grain is typically ribbon like, but may also be straight with an even, medium to coarse texture. This unique wood can also have a shimmering finish.
