3 BC412 - Programming Follow the steps below and use the bar codes on the succeeding pages to program the scanner to read BC412 bar codes: 1. Scan the SET bar code to enter the Programming Mode. 2. Scan the ENABLE BC412 bar code or the DISABLE BC412 bar code. If you scanned the DISABLE BC412 bar code, go to step 10. If you scanned the ENABLE BC412 bar code, continue to the next step. 3. Scan the MINIMUM READ bar code. Then scan the DIGIT bar codes to set the number of minimum reads. The range is 1 to Select the number of digits the scanner can read by scanning either the VARIABLE LENGTH bar code, or the FIXED LENGTH bar code option. If you scanned the VARIABLE LENGTH 1 bar code, go to step 10. If you scanned the FIXED LENGTH bar code, continue to the next step to select the fixed length options. 5. Scan the FIRST FIXED LENGTH bar code, then set the length by scanning the 0-9 DIGIT bar codes 2. The range is 01 to The Second Fixed Length is optional. If a Second Fixed Length is used, go to step 7. If a Second Fixed Length is NOT used, go to step Scan the SECOND FIXED LENGTH bar code, then set the length by scanning the 0-9 DIGIT bar codes 2. The range is 01 to Scan the NO SECOND FIXED LENGTH bar code. 9. Scan the MINIMUM BAR CODE LENGTH to change the setting. The range is 01 to Scan the END bar code to exit the Programming Mode. Error Tones: Scanning the wrong bar codes for the option selected causes the scanner to sound a rapid series of tones. Notes: 1. Enabling Variable Length bar code will enable the scanner to read any bar code with the minimim bar code length or longer. 2. All numbers must contain two digits. For example, a 4 digit, fixed bar code length would be entered as 04. Programming Guide 1
