1 Guide to the new user interface The intuitive new interface of puts commonly used features right at your fingertips. Now you can quickly access handy icons and shortcuts to build and modify databases like never before. This guide is designed to help FileMaker Pro users familiarize themselves with the new interface.
2 - Overview The new Status Toolbar combines elements from the Status Area and the Standard Toolbar from previous versions of FileMaker Pro for increased visibility and ease of use. Status Toolbar Previous versions of FileMaker Pro - Overview The Status Area was on the left side, and the commands were available as buttons in the Standard Toolbar or as menu items. 4 Browse Mode Details Book, Slider & Pie Chart The familiar book and slider are in the upper left section of the Status Toolbar. New is a pie chart that visually displays the portion of records in the found set. Layout Pop-up Menu View more of your layouts in the expanded pop-up menu. Form, List, and Table View Click the View As buttons to see your database in Form, List, and Table View without having to go into the View menu list as in previous versions of FileMaker Pro. 6 Find Mode Details Matching Records and Operators Symbols are now Operators. Choose to Omit or Include records when performing your find request. Magnifying Glass Easily identify when you re in Find mode with the magnifying glasses in each field (field frames must be active in the Layout Setup dialog box). Saved Finds New in, Saved Finds allow you to save, access or edit your favorite find requests. Plus view and access your recent finds. Guide to the New User Interface page 6

8 Layout Mode Details Layout Setup Click the pencil button in to display the Layout Setup dialog box. Layout Mode Toolbars Display the Align, Arrange, and Object Info Palettes along with the Formatting Bar by clicking the associated button.
