3 Long ago, some people called the Israelites lived in a foreign land, called Egypt.The king of Egypt was cruel and made them work very hard. His name was Pharaoh. Copy the picture of Pharaoh. 3

4 Pharaoh was building new cities to store all his wonderful treasures. The Israelites were his slaves and had to make bricks using mud and straw. Count the number of bricks and colour the picture. 4

5 There are too many of these Israelites, said Pharaoh. All their baby boys must be thrown into the River Nile! One mother decided to hide her baby boy. Join the dots to find out what she made to hide him in. 5

6 The mother put the basket with the baby inside among the reeds by the river.the baby s sister, Miriam, hid nearby to watch what would happen. 8 The kind princess adopted the baby and gave him the name Moses. He lived in Pharaoh s palace and was brought up as a royal prince. Find six differences between the two pictures. 8

9 Moses never forgot that he was an Israelite. One day he saw a cruel Egyptian kill an Israelite and when he thought no one was watching, he killed the Egyptian. But someone had seen him and told Pharaoh. Moses was frightened of Pharaoh so he ran away. Follow the maze and join the dots to find out what country Moses ran away to. 9

10 In Midian, Moses met a man who gave him a job looking after his sheep in the desert. One day, something amazing happened. Moses saw a bush on fire but when he went up close, a voice spoke to him from the bush. It was God speaking! 11 Moses was afraid and made excuses. I am nobody! Pharaoh won t listen to me. Send somebody else, he said. I will help you, said God.
