1 How to Create Your Prosperity Altar Creating a prosperity altar is easy and fun to do! You just need a clear intention, a bit of imagination and the willingness to experiment to discover what works best for you. Your altar is a personal space that you have dedicated to hold physical reminders of your energetic intention. It s best to place it in an area that you will see every day. Altars can be as big (or as small) as you like. This is good, because depending upon the size of your living space, a larger altar is not always practical. You can create your altar outdoors: on a patio space or in a garden (paver stones or tile can provide a workable surface); or indoors: in a shared space, such as your living room (a table top, mantle or shelf work nicely), or in a more private room, like a bedroom or meditation room, where others are less likely to disturb it. Religious beliefs aside, a personal altar reflects you, your spirituality and it offers you a way to express your personal values and beliefs, while holding space for your intentions and goals. For our purpose here, you are setting the intention for Prosperity. I prefer to set the intention of prosperity instead of money because prosperity includes money, wealth and abundance of all kinds, in all areas of life. 1 P a g e

2 Here are the basics to create your Prosperity Altar: A flat surface that will not be disturbed Candle safe environment (if you re using candles) to include a fire-safe surface to set your candles on. Candle holders work nicely for this purpose. I don t recommend leaving your candles burning if unattended. While there are varying opinions about snuffing a candle lit with intention before it fully burns out, I m an advocate for safety. I believe you can always relight the candle when you are able to return and monitor it later. Items which represent money. These can be coins, bills, jewelry, gemstones, gold and silver items, photographs or images of money, and anything that feels like money and abundance to you. I have a square tin that has money phrases on it placed on my altar. I ve put bills and coins inside the tin and on top of it to amplify its money energy. I also have some coins that I picked up in other countries from my travels scattered about my altar. They re fun and pretty and they are actually money! The point here is to be creative. Look around your home and see what you can find that represents money to you. You can add items that make you feel wealthy to your altar. A crystal goblet, a favorite piece of jewelry, silk scarves you get the idea. Here are some additional items that you can add to your altar to personalize it to boost the energy of the prosperity intention you are setting: I love bringing in the four elements of nature. If this resonates with you, you can add items that represent Earth: stones, crystals, rocks, items made of metal or wood. Air: feathers 2 P a g e

3 incense, images of clouds or sky. Fire: candles work well (make sure you light them and remember to use caution as noted above) as does lava rock, pieces of charcoal and items or images that represent the sun, stars, or lightning. Water: can be represented by shells, river rocks, a small bowl or bottle of tap water, rainwater (or any kind of water) as well as pictures of rain, rivers, lakes, ponds or waterfalls. I personally like to include representations of the gods and goddesses, ascended masters, angels, fairies (which are part of the angelic realm) and gnomes. For money manifesting, I often bring in Ganesha, the elephant headed deity who is the remover of all obstacles along with Lakshmi, who is the goddess of prosperity and wealth. An image of the sun or something gold can represent the god aspect on our altar. A moon or something silver can represent the goddess. The possibilities are many. Angels are my favorite because they are waiting for us to call them in and ask them for help, in all things. They can t interfere, but they re able to help when asked. I like to pull angel cards from my favorite angel deck (by Doreen Virtue) and use them on my altar. Statues or images can be used as well. You can also google images of angels and print them for your altar. Fairies are angels of nature. They are close connection with the earth and animals. They also love to help with your finances, if you have good intentions. Watch out if you don t! They have little patience for people who don t exhibit good will and a loving nature. They ve been known to play tricks on you if they suspect you re anything other than well intended. Gnomes are creatures of the earth. They live underground where the gemstones and precious metals are found. Gnomes are useful allies to call on but have patience, they are not quick like fairy folk. Gnomes move at a much slower but steady pace. 3 P a g e

4 You may want to add images or figurines of saints, animals, people you admire, or other representations of helpers (both earthly and cosmic) to assist you in manifesting your intention. Last but not least, when setting my intention for prosperity, I include the intent to give a percentage of the money I manifest to charity. Knowing that we live in an abundant universe, adding this piece firms my belief that there is more than enough for everyone. It definitely lets me know if I m in a scarcity based mindset or one of love and abundance! What do I do now that I ve created my altar? you ask It s pretty simple. You set your intention. When I set an intention for my personal prosperity, I envision myself as a channel through which money flows freely. I get to direct that flow of money. I get to use it to buy the things that I want and all the things that I want to do. When I exchange my money for these, I get the joy of having them and I also benefit the person who made them or provides the services that I receive. The energy of money flows through me to them and from them out into the world (as they choose to direct it). I want to share my money with people who support and empower other people and the good of our planet. When I make my purchases or give to charitable organizations, I consider their intentions (which are apparent by their business practices and how they treat our planet and the people on it) and I make a conscious decision if they are something I want to support. Our 3D world operates under universal principles. The Law of the Circle holds the basic principle of giving and receiving. You cannot receive what you are unable (or unwilling) to give. Nature is filled with examples of giving and receiving. Consider the ebb and flow of the waves of the ocean on the shore. Breathing is another example. You can t inhale before you exhale! The universe we live in operates under the mechanics of giving and receiving. Newton s third law of motion describes it well. It tells us that for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. 4 P a g e

5 Everything you put out into the world (including thoughts and actions) creates and equal and opposite reaction. Give of your time and time will return to you. Give love and you will receive love. Give of your money and you will receive more money. Here s the really cool part of the Law of the Circle. What you send out gets amplified. Why? Because when you put energy out into the world it, connects with other people who add their energy, and that gets sent out to connect with other people, and on and on it goes. By the time it returns to you, the energy you put out has been increased exponentially! And that includes money. So be mindful of what energy (thoughts and actions) you are giving out. The Law of the Circle is working whether you are consciously aware of it or not. Using the knowledge of how this universal principle works to increase your money flow is part of conscious co-creation. It may trigger worry in your giving is for your own prosperity. You might think that this devalues your charitable gift. It doesn t. Consider this: Giving benefits others. It allows the energy of money to move freely through you because you are in the energy of allowing, of receiving, and of letting go. No clinging or attachment. Just love and trust that it will reach you and those you wish to benefit. Besides if you give just to get, you re sending out the energy of greed, which will come back to you amplified! That will likely result in you not receiving much, if anything at all. Remember, it is the nature in which you give that determines the nature in which you receive. One final note: It s helpful to remember the basic rule of magic when setting intentions ~ Do what you will with harm to none. This is important. It s not wise to intend something that could harm another person. Harm can be as minor as an inconvenience and as great as actual injury to a person. 6 Knowing you are a spiritually centered being, this is not a discussion of which we need to get into great detail. With that said, there are a few things to consider when manifesting: 1 ~ Respect: Always operate from a place of reverence. You are co-creating with the Divine after all! 2 ~ Faith: In essence, trust. Never doubt for a moment that what you intend is possible. Doubt comes from the world of fear. You cannot be in the world of fear and the world of love (where magic dwells) at the same time. Doubt will quickly put you into the world of fear where your power is severely restricted! 3~ Clarity: Be crystal clear on your intention ~ what it is that you wish to manifest. The more detailed your intention the better! 4~ Patience: Magic works in Divine time. Our mortal world of linear time may try to lure you into the belief that nothing is happening. Just because you don t see it yet, doesn t mean that nothing is happening behind the scenes of what s merely apparent. And that goes back to Faith and Respect. And last but not least 5~ Love: Being in the energy of love, the emotions of gratitude, forgiveness, joy and peace, is the strongest vibration from which to manifest.
