2 THE INVENTOR OF THE CARBON ARROW Pierre Pujos invented and developed the world s first all-carbon arrow in He created a revolution which forever changed the way archers look at arrow speed, durability and accuracy. Thanks to his invention archers and bowhunters around the world started to switch from the 1 ST WRAPPED CARBON SHAFT FOR HUNTING In 1995, Pierre pushed the technology to new extremes by wrapping the carbon fibers to create a highly reinforced hunting shaft, which was stronger, lighter and stiffer than his first design. The result was the world s first wrapped carbon shaft developed for bowhunters under the Carbon Impact name. EXCLUSIVE XLT TECHNOLOGY In 2002, Pujos introduced the new exclusive XLT technology. The XLT seamless design allows for a very high spine-to-weight ratio, giving excellent speed, outstanding durability and amazing consistency. All Carbon Impact XLT shafts are constructed using the unique seamless XLT process: It is what makes them not only straight, but strong, quiet and consistent. old aluminum arrow design to the new carbon fiber construction. Under his direction carbon arrows took several world championship and olympic gold, silver and bronze medals. The XLT technology allows for the design of a hunting shaft that delivers uniform spine not only from one arrow to the next, but also 360 all around the shaft. XLT means consistency for each and all the shafts within a dozen. For the archers and the hunters Pujos developed new technologies that proved devastating in the field. Forget about the flyers! those three or four inconsistent shafts that don t group with the rest of the dozen! For the archers and the hunters, Pujos has been developing new technologies that prove devastating in the field. 2
3 Jason Allen, host of "The Rush" with Montana Whitetail S E A M L E S S X LT T E C H N O L O G Y For Hunter+ we took the proven XLT technology and made a strong but fast enough shaft for all hunting situations. There is no seam in the material, so Hunter+ XLT shafts perform flawlessly and with consistency. Grouping is guaranteed. BEST CAMO PERIOD! This new camo technology not only provides superb fit and finish but also excellent durability, reduces friction noise on the rest and does not add any weight to the shaft! T O U G H! Hunter+ XLT will outperform many other shafts due to its incredible spine, precision, weight consistency and straightness...it will keep on hitting hard and centered year after year! 3 SPINES, 3 GRADES Straightness Weight Variance Orange: " 5000: gr. 6000: gr. 6500: gr. 4 SMALL DIAMETER H U N T I N G S H A F T Small diameter carbon arrows used to be the standard a couple of years ago, and hunters everywhere loved them; very strong, amazing penetration, resistance to side wind, they had only one drawback: the overlapping point outsert. HALF- OUT P O I N T I N S E R T The point insert is located half inside the shaft, and half outside (HOT Technology). The outside part is flush fitting with the shaft and is of the exact same diameter. It is easy to install, easy to tune and allows for perfect broadhead alignment. FRONT WEIGHT DESIGN The HOT shaft offers excellent accuracy due to the built-in front weight design provided by our exclusive XLT process that places more carbon fiber at the front of the shaft. XLT TECHNOLOGY Like all Carbon Impact shafts, the HOT Shaft takes its amazing properties from the XLT seamless technology and unlike wrapped shafts they are strong, consistent devastating! 2 S P I N E S, 2 G R A D E S Straightness Weight Variance Yellow: " 55/65: gr. 65/75: gr. 5 Jason Allen with North Dakota Antelope HIGHER SPEED FOR THE BOWHUNTER Fast Shaft XLT delivers extra speed and flatter trajectory to the demanding bowhunter. It is lighter by 25 grains than the renown Fat Shaft which it is designed from: the bowhunter will put this extra speed to good use with a flatter trajectory and an increased F.O.C. balance for more accuracy. F O R F I E L D AND 3D The weight savings of all spines make it the shaft of choice for archers who shoot 3D and Field in Europe and around the world. 4 SPINES, 3 GRADES Straightness Weight Variance Green: " 4000: gr. 5000: gr. 6000: gr. 6500: gr. 6 Brett Gould Red Rock Archery Grand Junction, CO M O R E W E I G H T F O R H E AV Y H I T T I N G Hunting arrows depend on kinetic energy to deliver the punch that drives broadheads through tough hide and bone. Titan XLT gives you the edge you need to take on the big guys! Whether you are after moose, bear or that monster buck, Titan XLT will provide all the power you need. TOUGHEST AND Q U I E T E S T S H A F T Titan XLT is not only giving the hunter increased kinetic energy and extra penetrating power, but by also having more weight in the front of the shaft (front weight design FWD) delivers superior accuracy. 15 S A F E T Y W A R N I N G S H O O T I N G P R E C A U T I O N S 1. Inspect the arrow shaft If carbon arrows are abused, hit by other arrows or slapped against hard objects, damage to the shaft could occur. Carbon arrows should always be gently flexed and twisted end-to-end and visually inspected prior to each shooting. Warning: A damaged shaft could fail upon release and cause injury to yourself or others. 2. Recheck nock and point Check points and nocks to be sure they are securely attached and undamaged before each shot. Warning: Shooting damaged nocks or arrows can cause severe injury to the archer and / or spectators. 3. Adjust and test your arrow rest When setting up your bow, check your rest settings, specifically prong spacing to insure your arrows will not fall through. Warning: An arrow jammed between the rest and the riser, or between the prongs of the rest could fail upon release and cause injury to yourself or others. BOWHUNTING PRECAUTIONS Arrow shafts could break after being shot into an animal, resulting in many sharp splinter-like fragments inside the animal. They can be harmful if ingested, therefore: 1. Use caution when field dressing game animals to avoid splinters of carbon fiber. 2. Remove the flesh in the area of the wounds. 3. Clean the surrounding area of the wound and inspect for the presence of carbon fragments. 4. Dispose of any meat that might contain carbon splinters. A S S E M B LY P R E C A U T I O N S Warning: Use only Carbon Impact brand components with your Carbon Impact shaft. The use of components other than Carbon Impact even if they look similar could cause breakage or unseen damage to the shaft and could result in injury to the archer or spectators. A S S E M B L Y Warning: Never soak carbon shaft in harsh chemicals like acetone, paint thinner or MEK. Nocking the shaft Firmly press the nock valley base until the Press Fit Nock is fully inserted into the shaft for Rotonocks until the nock snaps into place. Doesn t require glue. Cutting the shaft Always cut carbon shafts with nocks in place to ensure correct length. Only use a high-speed arrow saw with an abrasive wheel when cutting. Warning: Always use appropriate respiratory protection (NIOSH approved dust mask and safety glasses) when cutting arrow shafts. Gluing the point/insert Apply a generous amount of 24-hour full-cure, flexible epoxy to the shank of the insert and to the inside of the shaft wall. Be sure the insert is fully seated and allow time for glue to fully cure before shooting. Warning: Do not use quick setting epoxy to install point insert. The bonding is not strong enough. Hot melt not recommended.
