1 C H A P T E R C R I T E R I A F O R L I S T I N G D I S E A S E S Article The criteria for the inclusion of a d ise ase in the OIE List are as follows: Basiccriteria International Spread Zoonotic Potential Significant Spread within Naïve Populations Emerging Diseases Parameters (at least one 'yes' answer means that the criterion has been met) Has international spread been proven on three or more occasions? OR Are more than three countries with populations of susceptible animals free of the d isea se or facing impending freedom (based on the relevant provisions of the T erre strial C ode, and in particular those contained in Chapter 1.4.)? OR Do OIE annual reports indicate that a significant number of countries with susceptible populations have reported absence of the d isea se for several consecutive years? Has transmission to humans been proven? (with the exception of artificial circumstances) AND Is human infection associated with severe consequences? (death or prolonged illness) Does the d isea se exhibit significant mortality at the level of a country or a zone? OR Does the d isea se exhibit significant morbidity at the level of a country or a zone? Are there apparent zoonotic properties or is there a rapid spread? Article The criteria in Article above are applied according to the decision-making model shown below: 2010 OIE - Terrestrial Animal Health Code 1

In case of modifications of this list of animal dise ase s adopted by the General Assembly, the new list comes into force on 1 January of the following year. 1. The following dise ase s are included within the category of multiple species di se ase s: - Anthrax - Aujeszky's disease - Bluetongue - Brucellosis (Br uc e lla abor tus) - Brucellosis (Br uc e lla m elitensis) - Brucellosis (Br uc e lla suis) - Crimean Congo haemorrhagic fever - Echinococcosis/hydatidosis - Epizootic haemorrhagic disease - Equine encephalomyelitis (Eastern) OIE - Terrestrial Animal Health Code

3 - Foot and mouth disease - Heartwater - Japanese encephalitis - Leptospirosis - New world screwworm (Co c hliom y ia hom in iv o rax) - Old world screwworm (Chry som y a bezzian a) - Paratuberculosis - Q fever - Rabies - Rift Valley fever - Rinderpest - Surra (Tr y pa noso m a e v ansi) - Trichinellosis - Tularemia - Vesicular stomatitis - West Nile fever. 2. The following dise ase s are included within the category of cattle di se ase s: - Bovine anaplasmosis - Bovine babesiosis - Bovine genital campylobacteriosis - Bovine spongiform encephalopathy - Bovine tuberculosis - Bovine viral diarrhoea - Contagious bovine pleuropneumonia - Enzootic bovine leukosis - Haemorrhagic septicaemia - Infectious bovine rhinotracheitis/infectious pustular vulvovaginitis - Lumpy skin disease - Theileriosis - Trichomonosis - Trypanosomosis (tsetse-transmitted). 3.
