5 Rigid Rib Patrol Boats Arun Rapid Response The Arun Rapid Response Craft were designed by Arun Marine Design in the UK. Arun has a long standing involvement in producing a lineage of successful small military vessels including the Fairmile Motor Torpedo Boats which went on to be used as the base hull design for the U.S. PT boats used extensively in the Pacific theatre of war during World War 2 right up to the Arun Search and Rescue Lifeboats used by the R.N.L.I and a host of maritime agencies worldwide including the U.S. and Canadian Coast Guard.

6 Arun Rapid Response From early models of the Arun Rapid Intervention Craft built for the British Special Forces, Arun s have been built by several manufacturers and are in used throughout the world. In 2004, Keltic Marine Group of Canada joint ventured with Arun to update and improve the basic boat design to ensure that the Arun RRC was at the optimum of innovation and technology. This undertaking included producing models with wheelhouse accommodation, Stealth technology and ballistics protection together with adaptations Understanding that each para-military client has vastly differing mission profiles requiring adaptations to the physical dimensions and propulsion power of a particular boat, the designs are based on developed surface techniques and 3D computer aided drafting in order to adjust the boats, size and performance to meet the client s exact specification rather than require the client to make do with second best.

9 Rigid Rib Patrol Boats The ARUN 790 is a 7.9 metre rigid hull inflatable boat based around a vee form, single chine hull design. The after sections are of constant deadrise to promote predictable handling at speed and the chine incorporates a spray rail, to promote dry running and constructed and suitably stiffened for operation at high speed in all international waters. Arun boats are built by AluminumNow Ltd. under a manufacturing license issued by the original designers and builders; Keltic Marine Group and Arun Marine Design. Due to the wide variety of models that can be built from the same basic proven hull design it cannot be expected that any individual builder will have experience of building a particular specified unit. However the boat builders who are licensed to build Arun and Seahunter vessels in various regions around the world have been selected because of their expertise, modern technology, properly equipped facilities and building reputation of similar vessels of the same size, construction and complexity. Construction of an Arun or Seahunter vessel is undertaken by AluminumNow Ltd. / AluminumNow Group under the direct superintendence and quality control of both Keltic Marine Group and Arun Marine Design.

10 Arun Rapid Response Using twin Suzuki DF 300 outboard, speed calculations indicate that the top speed of the Arun 790 in zero sea state, no wind and calm deep water will exceed 52 knots with a time to plane of 4 seconds. In a manufacturers official sea trial conducted off Key Largo, a slightly larger Everglades Pilot boat provided the following performance results: Top Speed knots Time to plane 4.45 seconds Acceleration 0 22 knots in 5.59 seconds

11 Rigid Rib Patrol Boats ARUN 925 RAPID RESPONSE CRAFT The Arun 925 hull is sub-divided into watertight compartments by longitudinal girders and transverse frames. The hull is reinforced for heavy pounding when operating at high speeds. Exposed deck areas are finished in non-slip material including on the side fore and aft walkway between the superstructure and the fender. The cockpit deck is watertight and self draining. The weather tight, climate controlled wheelhouse superstructure contains the helm and navigation stations at the forward end together with seating for three combatants/passengers aft of the operating station. All seating is full offshore Shockwave or similar impact mitigating seating with automatic change from seated to standing position. A forward cuddy cabin is fitted with a marine head, sink with hot and cold water supply plus air-con. The forward windshields are fitted windshield washers, wipers and demisters

17 AluPatrol Seahunter 40 The Seahunter 40 is a modern, ultra fast, deep V design mono hull surveillance and interceptor craft. The proven hull has three decades of proven military experience and features outstanding seakeeping capabilities, combined with low resistance figures, offering maximum performance in extreme weather conditions, whilst giving the crew the best possible ride. The Seahunter 40 is manufactured from advanced aerospace composite materials to ensure mission success and the safe return of the crew. Unlike traditional aluminum material, a military craft built of composites is not subject to electrolytic action, has integral ballistics protection, It is stronger and lighter than conventional materials and absorbs thermal, acoustic and electronic emissions thus veiling it s presence using semis stealth technology. The enemy also has fast boats, there is no need to advertise one s presence or put the crew in harms way unnecessarily. Aluminum construction is offered as an option

20 The Seahunter JavaSea 1400 is an ultra modern, deep V design mono hull surveillance and interceptor craft with speeds up to 40 knots. Constructed of advanced composites, the proven hull features outstanding seakeeping capabilities, combined with low resistance figures, offering maximum performance in extreme weather conditions, whilst giving the crew the best possible ride. The Seahunter1400 emits a minimal radar signature, produces low thermal and acoustic emissions and with its 0 6m. draft, may be operated in extremely shallow waters. The crew of two, plus combatants are protected within a Ballistics Level II hull as standard with the option of increasing to Level IV. The vessel is air transportable within a Lockheed Martin C-17 military aircraft.
