1 Christmas Flannelgraph Based on The First Christmas (MLK #95, in Kidz #88) Art by Jacques FC Pub #49, DFO Nov Kids, here s a fun, new Christmas flannelgraph made just for you to put together and present during your Christmas witnessing! It s super easy! All you have to do is color the figures, cut them out and put something sticky on the back like felt, flockpaper, etc. Follow the little scenes below and tell the Christmas story in your own words. (Extra pieces are included that can be added to scenes where you like.) We ve included with this flannelgraph a theater frame that you can use if you like to present your story of the first Christmas as a little theater show flannelgraph with different scenes. To give you some help, read over The First Christmas in Kidz #88. Each scene tells you where to find that part of the story in the MLK. Please be sure to present the Salvation message at the end of your show (see the sample included at the end of the scenes on page 3). Maybe an older brother or sister or your parents can help you with that. SCENE 1 (MLK #95, chapter 1, pages 2-6) Joseph and Mary in Nazareth. The Archangel Gabriel and Mary. Scene 5a Scene 5b Kids, once you ve given the flannelgraph, you can then lead people to the Lord. Here s one example of what you could say: So that's the story of the very first Christmas nearly 2000 years ago! But Jesus is still here with us! You can have Jesus and all that He has to give, which is everything, right this minute if you'll pray and ask Him to come into your heart and life! Just pray: "Lord Jesus, please forgive me for all my sins. I believe You are the Son of God, and I now ask You to come into my life. Jesus, please come in and help me to love others and tell them about You. Amen." Other ideas of how you can use these figures: Make Your Own Puppet Show: Besides being a flannelgraph, you can also use the figures as puppets. Simply glue or tape sticks on the back of each figure that needs to move, such as people and animals. The scenery pieces (such as the houses or the tree) can be used as samples for drawing your own backdrop scenery on a bigger piece of paper. For a theater, cut out the theatre front pieces provided and glue them to the front of a box, cut a hole, add your scenery backdrops and you re ready to go! Make Your Own Mural: Another fun idea is to glue all the pieces to a long piece of paper to make a Christmas mural, to hang up in your classroom or wherever you like! Make Your Own Christmas Cards: Copy the pictures and scenes to make colorful homemade cards to send to your friends, contacts and sheep. And the Lord might even show you other fun ideas to use these figures. Take photos of your projects and send in your testimony to the Kidz Biz. We love you. Have fun! PS: As you might notice this flannelgraph has been drawn using the little figures from the Be the Artist series (#1, FC Pub #35, and #2, FC Pub #39) plus new pieces from Be the Artist #3 (FC Pub #50) that you received with this flannelgraph. The Lord inspired us with this idea of using the little figures from the Be the Artist series as an example to you of how you can create future flannelgraph stories. By enlarging and tracing the different Be the Artist figures, you can create a multitude of characters and scenery and make your own flannelgraphs. You can also adapt the figures (characters and scenery) to fit the customs and people of your field. Or, you can create your own little figures by copying some drawings from the MLKs. Have fun!
