8 A Message from the Authors The field of Hypnotherapy has grown amazingly quick in the last 10 years. Hospitals, medical clinics and even private medical and alternative practices are regularly referring their patients to Hypnotherapy. Some of which, are even employing in-house Hypnotherapists to make life easier for their businesses. Without question, there is a growing need for Hypnotherapists. Hypnosis has been around since 1958, but it has gained significant popularity in the last decade. With this growing popularity, many people are seeking out Hypnotherapy for the first time as a legitimate form of treatment. As experts in the field, we still encounter people who have only heard myths about Hypnotherapy or who have outdated notions of what Hypnotherapy is all about and what it can do for a client. Almost 100% of the time, a client s questions quickly subside and their mindset changes once they've actually experienced Hypnotherapy treatment from a credible clinic. 9 The 10 Most Frequently Asked Questions about Hypnosis 1. Will hypnosis fix my problem? Hypnosis is a help-mate to help you solve your problems using the vast resources in your subconscious mind. Hypnosis helps you advance mentally so that you can use your own mental resources fully. 2. How many treatments will this take? Depending on your situation, it can take anywhere from one to multiple sessions in order to help you find the solutions that are right for you. 3. Am I hypnotizable? How do you know it will work? Everyone is hypnotizable. If someone is open and wants hypnosis, their subconscious will easily receive suggestions for positive change. If someone is resistant, then they are not ready for hypnosis. Your subconscious mind hears everything and will obey suggestions, as long as you remain open to the suggestions being given. 9

10 4. What if I fail my suggestibility test? You cannot fail your suggestibility test. The test is only used to help us determine which scripts to use for your mind. 5. Will the hypnotherapist control me? Absolutely not. You are always in control. If you want to come out of hypnosis, you may willingly do so at any moment. 6. Can I get stuck in hypnosis? No. There are times you may want to stay in the relaxed state of hypnosis, but your hypnotist knows how to bring you out of hypnosis quickly. 7. How many sessions does it take to stop smoking? We have two options for you: The one-session-stop method, which works for about 10% of the population. We also have our own custom Smoking Program, which consists of weaning you off your cigarettes weekly, following rules and accountability, which has a 90% success rate. 10

11 8. Isn t hypnosis just like taking a nap? No. You are fully aware in hypnosis. When you wake up from a hypnotic state, we suggest that you will feel rested as if you ve had a nice long nap. Your subconscious is always aware and takes suggestions even though it seems you ve just been napping. 9. Will hypnosis make me tell you my secrets? Absolutely not. You will not do anything you wouldn t normally do if you were in your normal waking state. 10. I m Christian. Is it okay that I use hypnosis as a tool? Yes. The Catholic Church has adopted hypnosis as a legitimate tool for treatment. We see many Christians of all denominations in our clinic with positive results. 11
