5 PROGRAM FORMAT PROGRAM AT-A-GLANCE Designed for working professionals, the 12-credit Graduate Certificate in Healthcare Corporate Compliance provides students with a uniquely comprehensive view of healthcare corporate compliance. The program is open to current or aspiring corporate compliance officers. The course of study, offered in just over seven months, is divided into three segments: Five-day In-classroom Residency at GW s Graduate Education Center in Alexandria, VA (three credits) Six-month Online Distance Learning segment (six credits) Three-day Capstone Residency back in Alexandria,VA (three credits) The program is accredited by the Compliance Certification Board (CCB). 8 GRADUATE CERTIFICATE ADMISSIONS INFORMATION PROGRAM APPLICANTS Program applicants should have earned an undergraduate degree, with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or higher, from a regionally accredited institution. Applicants with GPAs of 3.0 or higher in prior graduate degrees or graduate coursework, but with an undergraduate GPA below 3.0, are also eligible for admission. Applicants with an undergraduate GPA of less than 3.0 and no graduate coursework, but who otherwise meet the admission criteria, may be admitted into the graduate certificate program provisionally, but must complete PSHC 6201 (3 crs.) with a GPA of 3.0 or higher in order to be permitted to continue in the program. All students who successfully complete the GW Healthcare Corporate Compliance Certificate are eligible to transfer credits into the Master of Public Health degree in the Department of Health Policy, School of Public Health and Health Services, if admitted to that degree program. An official detailed evaluation is required for an international transcript showing all course work, grades, and proof of the earned degree from the non-u.s. institution attended. The evaluation should also determine whether the degree is equivalent to a U.S. degree. n Statement of purpose, a 250- to 500-word essay providing your academic objectives, research interests, and career plans. n Current resume with education and work history. n Two professional or academic references, preferably one from a current supervisor. n International students may need to submit Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS) scores.
