1 Teacher Resource Activity Books: Reserve Desk A popular request by child development and education students is the request for teacher resource activity books. Activity books provide ideas, activities, and a type of curriculum plan to help teach children a variety of subjects. Teacher resource activity books are located in two different areas within the library. The Reserve Desk at the Circulation Desk contains materials that teachers want their students to use, but not check out of the library. For a long time, teachers placed over a hundred activity books on Reserve so that each book was available to students to view. Over time, students needed to present information about their chosen activity book, so they had to take the book out of the library to go to class. For that reason, the following books on Reserve can be checked out for two days. Students can check the book out to go to class and then drop off the book after class at the library OR in the drop box outside the library doors. The activity books at the Reserve Desk are shelved by their own number. Each book on the following list is numbered. That number will allow the staff member to locate the book on the Reserve shelves at the Reserve Desk. For example, from the list below, 52 Science Centers is number 2 so the staff member can find the book on the shelf by the number 2. In addition to this list, there are teacher resource activity books within the regular library collection that can be checked out for three weeks. Most of the books within the collection are different and newer than the activity books held at the Reserve Desk.
