Its compact design is less than 1 ½ - inch thin and fits easily into a laptop bag or backpack. It's USB-powered with low-profile knobs and brushed aluminum body, and includes MPC Software for Mac and PC with 128-track sequencing capability. With 16 backlit genuine MPC pads, legendary MPC workflow, MPC Swing, plus four touch-sensitive knobs providing enhanced MPC software control, you'll be producing quality music in no time. A large LCD screen (360 x 96 dot graphic LCD) allows you to make tracks without having to look at your computer. No. The MPC Studio Black is a fully integrated USB MIDI controller for your computer it is designed to work seamlessly with the included MPC Software - and MPC Essentials - providing all of the major workflow points of the Legacy MPC's, while including lots of new performance and production focused enhancements. How do I turn pad lights off? The pads will light up different colours, depending on how hard you play them (ranging from yellow at a low velocity, and red at the highest velocity). To disable (or re-enable) these lights, on the MPC Studio Black, press PAD ASSIGN then F6 (Velo Col).

3 Will the MPC Studio Black burn CD s? The MPC Studio Black does not include a CD disk drive, or the option for one. The MPC software will export an Audio Mixdown in WAV, AIFF and MP3 formats, which can be burned to a CD from your computer s disk drive. Does the MPC Studio Black use a power Supply? No. Wire free! The MPC Studio is powered from USB connection, and does not include any other connections for power. What is new with the MPC Studio Black compared to the original MPC Studio? The MPC Studio Black retains the same core functionality as its predecessor with the addition of a new rugged design with black brushed-aluminium body, a new refined aluminium data dial and four new improved touch-sensitive knobs that provide fast and accurate control of MPC Software. Can I use the MPC Studio Black with other programs? As of MPC Software version 1.5, and included in MPC Essentials, a MIDI Mapping Mode feature assists with assigning MIDI values for controlling external MIDI gear, and with mapping control inside DAW environments when using the MPC Software plugin. That said, MPC Studio Black can be used without the MPC Software running, but manually MIDI mapping will generally be a required feature of the DAW's environment. If you do manually MIDI map your MPC hardware without the MPC Software running, a DAW with a MIDI learn feature will be easier to map than one without. You cannot change the MIDI note numbers and CC numbers that your MPC Hardware is assigned to unless you are using the MPC Software's MIDI map mode. Does the MPC Studio Black include an audio interface? No. The MPC Studio Black is a fully integrated controller for the MPC Software, and will require audio input and output from your computer's sound card, or external audio interface, like an Akai Pro EIE or EIE Pro. In choosing to use a sound card or audio interface, ASIO driver types are strongly recommended along with the latest updates for your sound card or audio interface's drivers. Does the MPC Studio Black include MIDI ports for external sequencers and hardware sound modules? Yes. The MPC Studio Black includes MIDI In and Out ports.
