3 No. Section/ Entry Requirements Duties Place (8) Water Conservation Section (1), Development (2) (i) year undergraduate studies or completed first or second year postgraduate studies, preferably in Geography, Science, Business Administration, Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Chinese Language or English Language (ii) Knowledge of MS office To assist in carrying out research and promotion work on topics related to water resources and conservation or other topics as necessary (ii) To assist in preparing educational and promotional materials to promote water conservation (iii) To assist in liaising with different parties, including schools, non-governmental organisations, business trades, etc. to promote water conservation (iv) To assist in sourcing, arranging the premiums design and production (v) To assist in data input, webpage development and updating (vi) Outdoor work may be required.

(i) To assist in retrieving consumption data from Water Supplies Department s (WSD) computer systems including GIS related software (ii) To assist in designing spreadsheet for consumption data analysis under WSD s water conservation activities (iii) To assist in liaising with different parties, including government departments, schools, non-governmental organisations and business trades, etc. for launching water conservation activities (iv) To assist in providing customer services such as responding to telephone and enquiries and handling complaints (v) To assist in carrying out data input for registration and completion of works (vi) Outdoor work may be required.

5 No. Section/ Entry Requirements Duties Place (10) Water Conservation Section (3), Development (2) year undergraduate studies or completed first or second year postgraduate studies preferably in Environmental Science, Marketing, Communications, Education or Languages (ii) Knowledge of MS office (i) To assist in carrying out research and promotion work on topics related to water resources and conservation or other topics as necessary (ii) To assist in preparing educational and promotional materials to promote water conservation (iii) To assist in liaising with different parties, including schools, non-governmental organisations, business trades, etc. to promote water conservation (iv) To assist in data input, webpage development and updating (v) Outdoor work may be required. (11) Water Loss Management Section, Development (1) completed second year studies in Civil / Hydraulics related subjects (ii) Knowledge of basic waterworks, hydraulics, database and Geographical Information System (GIS) To assist in collecting and analysing the water loss data related statistics with the aid of the Digital Mapping System using GIS software (ArcMap) Allowance:- HK$9,600 per month Terms of Appointment:- (A) Summer interns are engaged under non-civil service appointment. (B) Successful candidates will be appointed for six to eight weeks under the summer internship programme. Except otherwise provided, rest days, statutory holidays, sickness days and sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted generally in line with the provisions

6 of the Employment Ordinance (Cap. 57). How to Apply:- (A) Application form can be downloaded from the Water Supplies Department website. (B) Hong Kong students studying in local post-secondary institutions should apply through the Student Affairs Offices/Career Centres of their respective institutions. You are advised to note the deadlines set by the respective institutions. (C) Students studying in non-local post-secondary institutions should forward the completed application forms together with copies of certificates and academic transcripts to the following address by post, by fax (852) or by on or before the closing date for application. (D) The post number and Section/ concerned should be clearly marked on the top of the application form. (E) An applicant of the internship programme can apply for a maximum of 3 posts. You should also state your priority of preference on the top of the application form. You only need to fill in one set of application form. (F) Students who are selected will normally receive an invitation for interview within 4 weeks from the closing date for application. Those who are not invited for interview by that time may assume their applications are unsuccessful.
