3 The story behind ANIEL WELLINGTON While travelling half way around the world, it was a coincidental meeting that sparked the idea for aniel Wellington. On this trip I, the founder of W, met an intriguing British man with impeccable yet unpretentious style. He had a particular fondness for wearing his vintage watches on old weathered NATO straps. The man s name? aniel Wellington. Inspired by my new acquaintance s timeless style of fashion, I decided to create my own line of watches. Minimalistic and refined, the classic design with interchangeable straps truly has a wide ranging appeal. Now, after a few years and over a million watches sold, this concept is still very much a part of what makes aniel Wellington so special.

18 the interchangeable strap One of the great advantages with the aniel Wellington watch is the interchangeable strap, which means that you can easily alternate between all of your favourites. Combine your rose gold or silver case with the great variety of refined leather straps and playful NATO straps. The NATO strap NATO straps originate from the British navy, where divers used the strong nylon straps over their wet suits. Even though they were originally made to avoid rust, we love the look and versatility of them.
