11 TABLE THREE: TEXTURE SLABS What: Practice rolling slabs and making textures. At the end of the session, wedge your project back into a tight ball of clay. OR If this is your 1-keep project, put your period and initials on the bottom and put in Ready to Fire Cupboard. How: 1. Use the rolling pins or slab roller to make a slab 2. Use texture tools to add texture to the slab. 3. Try out different designs and different amounts of pressure. 4. Build something with the Slabs if you have time.

How: Create a pinch pot then use slip and score to add pieces to the pot to create a monster, animal or person s head.

Paint with a combination of colors on the FRONT ONLY. At the end of the session, write your name and period on the back of the ornament and put in the ready to fire box
25 GLAZE PAINTING TIPS Use lighter colors first Put 2-3 layers of each color Let colors dry between layers Do NOT paint on the back or bottom of clay projects Use dark color to outline, draw designs or words over the top of lighter colors. MIX all paints well before using Wash brushes completely between different colors.
