Switch on the ignition. Switch the wipers on and off Switch off the ignition. Windscreen wiper blades Fold out the wiper arm Remove the wiper blade. Remove the protective cover from the nut Protect the rear edge of the bonnet and the wiper arm. Use tape for example (as illustrated) Slacken off the nut for the wiper arm a few turns. Leave the nut in place to protect the threads on the shaft journal Press the wiper arm downwards. Tap it gently. Use a plastic mallet (as illustrated) Remove the nut and wiper arm. Windscreen wiper mechanism Remove the windscreen wiper arms, see Remove the plenum chamber and gutter. See Cowl, replacing Disconnect the 2 connectors from the wiper motor Remove the screws from the mechanism. Remove the lug from the rubber bushing. Windscreen wiper motor Remove the wiper arms. See instructions Remove the wiper mechanism. SeeWindscreen wiper mechanism Remove the upper control arm from the ball. Use a spanner Remove the lower control arm. Use a spanner

Installation Windscreen wiper motor Lubricate the ball on the link arm using grease Install the 3 screws for the windscreen wiper motor Position a spanner as support between the link arm and the bracket and screw head. See illustration Position the control arm on the ball. Carefully tap the control arm into place. Use a sleeve and a mallet. Windscreen wiper mechanism Lubricate the lug using a soap solution Install the mechanism in the correct position Tighten the screws Connect the connectors Tighten the screws. Tighten to 20 Nm. Start with the outer screw (closest to the front wing) Install the panel over the wiper mechanism Reset the wiper motor and mechanism by switching on the ignition and then turn the wiper switch on and off Install the wiper arms. See Windscreen wiper arms. Press the wiper arm into place on the shaft journal Screw the nut into place loosely Adjust the wiper arm to the correct position.

The distance from the centre of the wiper blade to the upper edge of the trim strip must be 50 mm Tighten the nut. Tighten to 20 Nm Install the protective cover over the nut. Note! Remove the masking tape from the wiper arms and the edge of the bonnet. Windscreen wiper blades In reverse order. Other information To adjust the control arms. 4 "VCC EN " file://c:\info\vv132007\ie\en\25\vcc htm Cowl, replacing Plenum chamber The chamber liner is secured with 6 blind rivets. Press the centre of the rivet head. Lift up the chamber Install: In reverse order. The gutter The gutter will be loose until the chamber has been reinstalled. Carry out operation Plenum chamber. Remove gutter. Install: In reverse order.

See Cowl, replacing Disconnect the 2 connectors from the wiper motor Remove the screws from the mechanism. Remove the lug from the rubber bushing.

The link arm must be parallel with the outer control arm Apply thread sealant liquid P/N to the threads of the motor shaft Tighten the nut. Use a 20 mm fixed spanner on the link arm as a counterhold Install the control arms Test drive the mechanism. Other information To replace windscreen wiper components.
