Failure to submit a complete Application may delay your application. Please submit all listed items below to complete your application: 1. Apply online: at and click on the Apply Here link. It may take 3-5 days to receive your student identification (ID) number by . If you have not received your student ID within 5 days, please contact cdelgado@ivc.edu for assistance. 2. Pay the $54.00 application fee: Pay online by using a Visa or MasterCard, seven days a week between the hours of 6:00am- 11:00pm pacific standard time at You will need your IVC student ID and login information in order to use the online pay system. Applicants may also mail a check or money order drawn from a US bank and made out to Irvine Valley College. Check or money order payments can be sent by mail to Irvine Valley College, International Student Center, 5500 Irvine Center Drive, SSC 140, Irvine, CA DO NOT SEND CASH. 3. International Student Data Form: Complete and sign the attached International Student Data Form. 4. Proof of English Proficiency: The following tests scores or successful completion of Intensive English instruction at one of our affiliated schools meets this requirement. a. Accepted test scores (an official score report is required): TOEFL EXAM: Paper-based 470 or Internet-based Score of 52 (IVC school code is 4773) IELTS EXAM: Min. Score 4.5 ITEP EXAM: Min. Score of 4.5 EIKEN TEST: Grade 2A b. Approved Intensive English schools (a completion letter and/or Certificate is required): Kaplan English: Completion of the Advanced Level American Language Program (CSU Fullerton): Completion of Level Seven IEP (UCLA Extension): Completion of Level 105 GEOS English Academy: Completion of Level Six Poly Languages Institute: Completion of Level Six UC Irvine Extension: Completion of Level Six UC Riverside Extension: Completion of Level 600 LASC: Irvine & Los Angeles: Completion of Level Six & Recommendation 5. Evidence of Secondary/High School Completion: Original transcripts with certified English translation showing proof of graduation from secondary/high school are required. Transcripts must include all terms attended with grades and a graduation date. A validation of the transcript(s) provided by a United States Certified Credential Evaluation agency may be requested. For a list of certified Agencies please visit: 6. Financial Certification and Affidavit of Support (Minimum of US $20,534 required): Applicants must show proof of funding for our estimate of one year Tuition & Living Expenses which is US $20,534. See Estimate of Expenses for a breakdown of annual tuition and living expenses. An additional $5000 per dependent is required to the above total. Required documents include: a. An original bank statement with certified English translation (no older than 4 months) showing a minimum balance of US $20,534 AND b. Signed Affidavit of Support to be completed by the sponsor (the person whose name is on the bank statement). Government Sponsored Students: An official Financial Guarantee letter from a Government Sponsor which indicates full coverage for tuition, materials, supplies, transportation, living expenses and health insurance. This letter must be addressed to Irvine Valley College and must include the student name and duration of the sponsorship. Government sponsored students will also be required to submit a signed FERPA/Release of Information Form. (continued)

3 P a g e 3 7. F-1 Visa Student Agreement: Students are required to read and understand immigration and Irvine Valley College institutional policies. Your signature and completion of the F-1 Visa Agreement validates your commitment and intent to study in the United States at our college. 8. Copy of the information page from your passport. TRANSFER STUDENTS (Students already in the United States): Students transferring to Irvine Valley College from other US schools will also need to submit copies of the following: 1. Current I F-1 visa 3. I-94 (this can be downloaded from 4. Verification of Status Form (to be completed by the DSO at your current school) 5. Official transcripts from all US schools attended 6. Tuberculosis (TB) Test results (See instructions on page 5) Note: If you are transferring during the winter holiday break or summer vacation and plan on traveling outside the USA, it is important that you complete our application before your departure. Additionally you will be required to complete the state mandated matriculation process before a final admission and I-20 is granted. APPLICANTS UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE: Irvine Valley College may admit applicants under the age of 18 based on a review of the application and verified high school/secondary completion at the time of application. All applicants under the age of 18 must have a designated Legal Guardian who is a US citizen or resident and over the age of 25. The Legal Guardian must be the person you live with and must take full responsibility for you until you become 18 years of age. The following guardianship documents are required: 1. Affidavit of Guardianship (Must be notarized in California) 2. Authorization for Irvine Valley College Student Health Services to Consent to Treatment of Minor Lacking Capacity to Consent SEND APPLICATIONS TO: Irvine Valley College International Student Program 5500 Irvine Center Drive Irvine, California USA RECEIVING THE I-20: After you have submitted all of the required documents it will take 5-7 business days for you to receive an official notification about your application. Acceptance documents will be sent electronically by ; accurate information must be given. Instructions about paying the SEVIS I-901 fee and postal mailing options for receiving your I-20 will be included in this . Express Mail Irvine Valley College uses an express mail service that will allow you to receive your acceptance letter and Sevis I-20 through DHL or FedEx in 3-5 days. Requesting your immigration documents through express mail is at your expense and payment by credit card (Visa, MasterCard or Discover cards only) is required. Please visit for more information. Using this service requires that you create a user name and password. To request shipment, you will need your IVC student ID number, mailing address, address, phone number and credit card information. You may request shipment to a foreign address, or to a U.S. address. If your Sevis I-20 will be sent to a U.S. address, please include the name of the person who lives at that address.

Bank information showing this additional amount must be submitted in order for an I-20 to be issued. * NOTE: The college health insurance plan must be purchased by all international students. Fees are estimates and are subject to change. The above fees represent the minimum estimated tuition and living expenses that an international student can expect to pay while attending Irvine Valley College. Applicants must show funding of US $20,534 in order to receive the I-20. The I-20 is the document needed to apply for the F-1 visa. Fees are subject to change by the State of California and the South Orange County Community College District Board of Trustees. Summer session fees are not included above. We are happy to provide you with a list of local apartments and homestay placement agencies that you can contact for assistance with housing placement. The City of Irvine is well known for being one of the safest cities in the United States. Conveniently located in the heart of Orange County, there are many apartment communities to choose from. Transfer International Students in the United States: must submit their TB test results before admission will be granted. Visit the Health and Wellness Center at IVC to take the required TB test on a Monday or a Tuesday. A second visit must be scheduled two days (48 hours) after the test is administered to complete the process. Once cleared, the H&WC will provide you with blue card that you must bring to the International Student Center. Below is a list of local facilities which can administer this exam for a fee. TB testing is a 2 day process. New first-time international students arriving from abroad: must take the TB test upon arrival to the United States. Visit the Health and Wellness Center at IVC to take the required TB test on a Monday or a Tuesday. A second visit must be scheduled two days (48 hours) after the test is administered to complete the process. 7 P a g e 7 AFFIDAVIT OF SUPPORT To be issued an I-20 from Irvine Valley College, an international student must be guaranteed US $20,534 annually in financial support. This form is required for your admission and must be completed by you and your sponsor. An original bank statement from your sponsor s bank account must be provided to validate the certification noted on the form. The bank statement must be dated within the last 4 months and must include a certified English translation, if necessary. 8 P a g e 8 F-1 Visa International Student Admission Agreement with Irvine Valley College Irvine Valley College F-1 Visa students must comply with U.S. immigration laws, institutional college and district policies. Your signature validates your understanding and agreement to obey all policies. To complete your admission process you must sign and return this agreement with your admission documents. As a new students OR transfer student, I must attend the International Student Orientation which is scheduled approximately 2 weeks before the start of the semester. 3. I understand that I must enroll in the college and district approved medical insurance plan or I will not be permitted to enroll in classes. I understand that I can enroll online at and I must a copy of my insurance confirmation with student I.D. to iso@ivc.edu. 4. I understand that I must be enrolled in 12 units of college courses by the first day of the semester (Fall & Spring). If I begin my studies in the summer, I am required to be enrolled in 6 units of college courses by the first day of the summer term. 5. I must attend classes and successfully complete all courses. Withdrawing from classes past the drop deadline will produce a W notation on my transcript and will not count towards fulltime enrollment. I understand that I may not drop/withdraw from classes below the 12 unit requirement without first obtaining permission from one of the International Center Designated Officials. 6. If I drop below 12 units during any academic semester, without permission, my I-20 will be terminated placing me out of status with US Department of Homeland Security (US DHS). I understand that the International Student Office is required to report this information to US DHS. 7. I understand that only one online or distance education 3 unit class per semester can be counted towards full-time enrollment requirement. I understand that I must always be enrolled in 9 units of in-class instruction in order to maintain my F-1 status. I also understand that credit received due to Credit by Exam may not be applied toward the full-time enrollment requirement. 8. I may not take more than 6 units each semester at Saddleback College. Irvine Valley College and Saddleback College international students may enroll at either campus to satisfy their fulltime enrollment needs. Saddleback College also authorizes their international students to attend Irvine Valley College and enroll in a maximum of 6.00 units per term. 9. I understand that as a new OR transfer international student, I am required to enroll in the Counseling 1 class designed for international students during my first semester of attendance. I have the option of enrolling in other Counseling 1 courses during my first semester if this class becomes full. A hold will be placed on my student record if I do not satisfy this requirement and I will not be allowed to enroll for a second term. 10. If English is not my first language, I will take the English as a Second Language assessment exam and Math assessment exam. I will also attend the in-person advisement session after completing all required assessments. 11. If I am a transferring international student, I must complete the matriculation (Online Orientation, Assessment Tests & Advisement) before I can be admitted.

9 P a g e I will schedule an appointment with one of the International Student Counselors and use MAP (My Academic Plan) to develop a comprehensive academic plan. This plan must be approved by an academic counselor during my first semester of attendance at IVC. 13. I will notify the International Center staff anytime that I change my address, phone number, major or change schools. Such changes must be reported within 10 days. I understand that if my grade point average falls below a 1.75 or if I am on academic probation for more than three semesters, I may be academically dismissed from the college and my I-20 will be terminated. 16. I know that I am not permitted to work (on-campus) unless authorized by a Designated School Official from the International Center. I know that I am not permitted to work outside of the college. 17. Transcripts from other U.S. colleges that I attended must be submitted in a sealed envelope and must be evaluated by one of the IVC Counselors. 18. Embassy or Agency Sponsored Students: I am responsible for all class fees not approved by my sponsor and for fees incurred due to dropping classes after any refund deadlines. I also understand that I must purchase the district required health insurance plan if I do not have a current, detailed and clearly defined financial guarantee letter on file that is approved by the International Student Center Director.
