2 International Student Application Requirements A. Madison College Admission Requirements 1. Application Fee of $30, check or money order payable to Madison College. Cash or credit card not accepted. 2. Completed International Student Application for Admissions form. 3. Proof of English proficiency (if a non-native English speaker). Acceptable English language verification includes one or more of the following TOEFL score minimum* Internet Based Test, IBT: 61 Paper Based Test, PBT: 500 Computer Based Test,CBT:173 IELTS: Band 5* EIKEN: Grade 2A* College English COMPASS exam placement into Academic Reading/Writing 5 &6 or higher. Official recommendation by WESLI, Wisconsin English as a Second Language Institute. Official recommendation by MESLS, Madison English as a Second Language School. Official recommendation by ELS Educational Services. Proof of significant amount of prior schooling completed in English. Other forms of English language verification will be considered on a case by case basis using the above exam scores as guidelines. *Original documents required for TOEFL, IELTS, or EIKEN score reports. 4. Proof of High School/Secondary School completion or higher education degree awarded. Depending on the educational system, this may include a diploma, certificate, transcript, examination results, etc. *Original documents preferred. Copies may be accepted with justification explaining why the originals are not available. 5. Original Evaluation Reports: The credentials mentioned in Item 4 must be evaluated by an approved evaluation agency. See Page 9 for a list of evaluation agencies. B. Documentation for Non-Immigrant Visa Requirements 1. Financial support Documentation. Please see Page5 for the funding amounts necessary. Acceptable financial support verification includes Bank statement from personal bank account(s). Bank statement from sponsor bank account(s) and Affidavit of Support letter indicating sponsor s relationship to the applicant, the amount available to the applicant and the duration of sponsorship. Grant, scholarship, and/or loan documentation. *Original documents preferred. Copies may be accepted with justification explaining why the originals are not available. 2. Verification of identity. Please submit copies of the applicant s passport identity and expiry page(s). If the applicant is currently in the United States, please also provide current visa status documentation. *Document copies will be accepted. 2

5 EVIDENCE OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT Before Madison College can issue the certificate of eligibility that you need in order to obtain a non-immigrant visa, documents certifying that you have financial resources to meet your educational and living expenses for the entire period of your studies must be submitted. The amount must be equal to or greater than the total amount shown for estimated expenses listed below. All amounts entered should be in U.S. currency. A. Estimated Expenses for a 12-month Period: Tuition and fee amounts indicated below are based on the minimum full-time course load of only 24 credits during an academic year, since all non-immigrant visa-holding students must enroll in at least 12 credits each Fall and Spring semester. Please modify your estimated expenses if planning to take more than 12 credits per semester, or if enrolling also during the summer session. 1.
