3 Marije Baalman Wezen Gewording Wezen Gewording is a combination of livecoding and gestural control; switching between performance modes of body and gestures and livecoding their relationship to sounds. The work is an ongoing exploration of mappings of body gestures onto sound and light, and has been changing over the past one-and-a-half year from performance to performance. Trondheim Voices Maccatroll performance Trondheim Voices works with alternative modes of performance over a wide range of expressions, usually involving collaboration with other arts disciplines. Notions of (performance) space and (audience- and performer-) time are challenged, like in the recent 4-day work Guest house. Tonight s performance utilizes the wireless controller Maccatroll custom built for the ensemble by Asle Karstad. Trondheim Voices is a pool of singers, and the size of the vocal ensemble varies from project to project. Singers: Siri Gjære, Ingrid Lode, Torunn Sævik, Tone Åse.

4 Daniel Formo Orchestra of Speech Explores the musical expression of everyday (improvised) conversations, in relation to the dynamics of improvised musical performance. Andreas Bergsland and Heidi Grøtte Jeu de modes IV Interactive dance performance with motion tracking by Motion Composer. Structured dance improvisation: Heidi Grøtte. Music: Andreas Bergsland. Hilmar Thordarson and Choir of Kjartan Hljóðs bið ek (Hearing I ask) Hljóðs bið ek (Hearing I ask), for Voices and realtime interactive electronics (2013). All sounds are based on selected words from the poetry of Vøluspa from the Snorra Edda the primary source for Norse mythology. All electronic sounds are generated live in from the vocal sounds through a pre written computer score. The conductor is using the ConDiS conducting computer system. ConDiS is designed to enable a conductor not only to control the overall sound of the performing musicians but also to control a digitally processed version of the performer s sound in real time.

5 Gyrid Nordal Kaldestad and Anders Tveit Electronic Music for Small Acoustic Objects Amplified wooden boxes with small resonating objects constitutes the sole sound material in these improvised pieces. The amplified sounds timbre and different acoustic features gets analyzed in real-time and then mapped to the performers personal setup and audio processing schemes in correlated and completely arbitrary ways. T-EMP Evil Stone Circle The music of Trondheim Ensemble for Electroacoustic Music Performance (T-EMP) is based on collective improvisation within a contemporary electronic genre. The musical interplay is explicitly challenged by exploring situations where traditional modes of communication may be blurred due to the use of technology. Tonight s concert marks the release of the album Evil Stone Circle. As the music is improvised, it may or may not have relation or resemblance to the recorded tracks on Evil Stone Circle. T-EMP is: Øyvind Brandtsegg, Trond Engum, Bernt Isak Wærstad, Carl Hakon Waadeland and Tone Åse.

6 Wednesday December 2, lunch concert Mathieu Lacroix Studie I - Dissolving Time for solo piano and electronics. Dissolving Time is based on making a scale out of the overtones of a single tone, and then stretching small melodies to make a harmonic texture that the pianist can play over. The composition is based on the idea that a musical form can be drawn not only from its harmony, but also from its texture. Maren Barline piano.
