2 1. General description With this extremely accurate radio-controlled alarm movement you are in possession of the most advanced technology. The time of this radio-controlled alarm movement is set by the signals of the official time signal transmitter in Germany DCF 77, America WWVB, Japan JJY or Great Britain MSF. The clock sets itself automatically, including summer and wintertime 2. Starting the clock Insert one battery (AA 1.5 V, IEC LR6 alkaline) into battery-compartment respecting the correct polarity. You will hear a short Bip (0.5s) and the LED will be switched on for 2 seconds. Both hour and minute hands will move to the 12 o clock position. In good reception conditions the precise time will be set within 2 6 minutes. 3. Setting the alarm The desired alarm time is set manually, with setting knob. Turn the setting knob upwards. 4. Alarm On / Off Alarm ON Alarm OFF = slide the alarm switch upwards = slide the alarm switch downwards 5. LED-light / snooze a) LED light: Press multifunction bar, the LED light will be switched on for 5 seconds and will then switch off automatically. b) Snooze: When the alarm signal sounds, press multifunction bar briefly, the alarm signal will stop and sound again after 4 minutes. To stop alarm completely slide alarm switch downwards in Off position. 2 of 10

3 6. Manual time-setting By using Handset button, the time can be set manually. The clock should also be adjusted manually outside the cover area of the time signal. Press the button will move the hands step by step. By pressing and holding the button for a short period of time, the hands move faster. The movement will operate as a normal quartz clock until the signal of DCF 77 is again received. This is not valid for time zone setting (see point Nr. 7). 7. Time zone setting By pressing the multifunction bar, you will hear a Bip and the time will advance by one hour. This operation allows time setting to different time zones within the reception area of the DCF 77 transmitter (e.g. United Kingdom). In its new time zone, the clock will continue receiving the signal of DCF 77. (This time zone setting may be repeated as often as wished.) For WWVB, the U.S. signal, 4 time zone of P, C, E, M are able to selected with this multifunction bar setting. 8. Reset Take out the battery and then replace them into the battery compartment (hands will move to 12 o clock) and in good reception conditions the precise time will be set within 2 6 minutes as described under point NR Interference of signal reception As with any other radio receiver, the reception of the signal might be interfered. This can be caused by the location of the clock or by atmospheric influence. Reception can possibly be improved by repositioning the clock. Major influences in a normal household/ office environment are: curtains in aluminum electrical appliances which are not earthed computer, TV building in reinforce concrete or with metallic front 3 of 10

4 10. Low batteries If, when pressing the multifunction bar, the dial light is blinking or not lighting at all, the battery will have to be replaced within 1 2 days. Note: exhausted batteries have to be specially disposed off. Important notice: Empty batteries should be removed from the alarm clock. Avoid direct exposure to the sun. This alarm clock needs no adjustment or technical control. Test of the mirror assembly in the movement - Mechanical test - Movement blocked with the pin - mirror must be 100% visible - After the pin is removed and no power is connected the mirror must be 50% visible. - After the pin is removed, and 1,5V are connected to the coil ( the polarity have to be chosen that no step will be done) the mirror must be 100% visible.
