Drill a 3/8" hole through the material you are working with and insert the movement. 2. Slide brass washer over shaft. 3. Attach dial mounting hex nut. 4. Gently press hour hand onto shaft at 2:00 position. 5. Place minute hand over shaft at 2:00 position. 6. Gently screw minute nut in place. 7. Press on second hand at 2:00 position. 8. Screw on cap nut if no second hand is used. Selecting the Proper Shaft Length Proper shaft length is important to ensure sufficient clearance when going through your dial board and when using a glass front on your clock. Overall Length (A) is measured from the tip of the hand shaft to the movement cast. Allow an extra /8" for a cap nut or a sweep second hand. The threaded length of the shaft (B) secures your movement to the dial board or wood. Measure the ness of the material through which the shaft must pass, add the dial or face ness and allow about /8" for mounting hardware to get the proper shaft length for your clock project. Mini Movement Cover Our cover provides a neater, more professional look to clocks with exposed movements. It completely covers the back of the movement including the battery.
