2 GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF SOCIAL JUSTICE & EMPOWERMENT APPOINTMENTS ON CONTRACT The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment invites the applications from interested and eligible individuals for performing the following services in this Ministry for a period of six months:- i. Office Assistants. ii. Stenographic assistance. 2. Eligibility conditions for Office Assistants are as follows:- He/she should i. Have retired from the post of SO/ Assistant in any Ministry/Department/Organisation of the Government of India. ii. Have at least 10 years experience in the processing of cases in a Govt. Department/ Office. iii. Have good knowledge of Govt. Rules/ Regulations and procedures. iv. Be below 65 years of age and in good health. v. Have working knowledge of computers and a typing speed of 30 wpm in Hindi or 40 wpm in English, on computers. vi. Should have no disciplinary proceedings pending as on the date of application. 3. Eligibility conditions for Stenographers are as follows:- He/she should i. Have retired as PS/ PA in any Ministry/Department/Organisation of the Government of India. ii. Be below 65 years of age and in good health. iii. Have working knowledge of computers. iv. Have a shorthand speed of 100 wpm in Hindi or English and a typing speed of 30 wpm in Hindi or 40 wpm in English, on computers. v. Should have no disciplinary proceedings pending as on the date of application. 4. Those engaged on contract for providing either of the above services will be paid a consolidated remuneration of Rs.20,000/- p.m. Terms and Conditions of the engagement are mentioned in Annexure-I. 3 ANNEXURE I Terms and conditions 1. The persons engaged on contract will be required to work in any division of the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, located at Shastri Bhawan, Jeevan Prakash Building and West Block No. VIII, R.K. Puram, New Delhi. 2. The persons engaged will be required to attend office on all working days and, if necessary, on holidays. If required, they will have to work even beyond normal office hours. 3. The persons engaged will be paid a consolidated monthly remuneration of Rs.20,000/-. No further compensation will be admissible, even if a person attends office on holidays and works beyond normal office hours. 4. If a person does not attend office on any working day, the remuneration would be worked out by applying the following formula:- Number of working days on which office has been attended X 20,000 Number of working days in the month 5. The persons engaged would be under obligation to maintain discipline and perform the work assigned to them within the time limit prescribed. 6. The Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment reserves the right to terminate the contract of engagement without giving any notice, if the work and performance of any person is not found satisfactory. 7. The engagement will be for a period of six months. However, depending on the requirement of the Ministry and the performance of the person engaged, the period of engagement can be extended. In case the vacant posts of Assistant/Private Secretary/Personal Assistant/Stenographer Gr D get filled up, by regular employees the
4 services of the contract employee will be terminated. In case of partial filling up of posts by regular employees, the oldest contract employee shall be terminated first.
