2 So what is biomass? Greenflame Biomass wood pellet boilers A natural material produced out of a recent living thing In this case trees. Why wood? It s s one of the most natural and sustainable fuel sources available to us. Its carbon neutral cycle is proven by the same amount of carbon dioxide it releases into the atmosphere through burning, as it absorbs during growth process.

4 Fuel & usage High quality - 6mm premium pellets with a moisture content below 10% are approved for use. High quality pellets have a low ash content (max 0.5%) meaning good combustion, minimum ash production and less wastage. The cost per kw/h of wood pellets can be around 40% less than the cost of oil. Current cost per tonne = approx Popular brands include Balcas Brites and Verdo Pellets displaying the ENplus trade mark the seal for quality.

13 Pellet storage and feed solutions A pellet store is worth considering, for a continuous supply of pellets, particularly for larger output boilers. The cost of pellets for bulk purchase will reduced. Pellet storage solutions range from 3.0 tonne (shown opposite) to 20.0 tonne in square or rectangular footprints Various auger and vacuum feeding options are available to suit.

Typical auger set up Optional Vacuum System Option The vacuum system is an optional fuel transportation drive, available on all models. The system ensures smooth transportation of pellet from fuel store to boiler. with sensor indication controlling and monitoring fuel supply. Should the hopper empty the vacuum will automatically re-fill in defined periods of time. Auger systems are popular alternatives to this method

15 The Eco-Lodge For large energy users particularly those in offgrid areas, Eco-Lodge is an option. This pre-packed biomass solution in a box includes boiler, buffer tanks and controls. The unit is pre-plumbed and pre-wired off site and delivered to the owners site as a plug and play system. Available as a 20ft units with separate silo systems. Prices start around 69,000

19 Pay back opportunities Greenflame Biomass wood pellet boilers The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) currently benefits commercial biomass installations by adopting a feed in tariff approach, payments are made for every kw/h of energy produced on the premises. The RHI for householders will be managed by Ofgem aimed at those looking to replace a current heating system with a renewable one. It is intended that householders will get paid for the heat expected to be produced by their installed technology. Commercial RHI Tariff for <200kW Biomass Boiler 8.6p/kWhr for first 1,314 at Full Power = Tier 1 (2.2p/kwhr thereafter = Tier 2) Domestic RHI is now confirmed at 12.2p/kWh Anticipated Summer 2014 The current Renewable Heat Premium Payment (RHPP) phase 2 - scheme offers the homeowner a voucher worth for the install of a biomass system.
